When it originally aired, the series finale was considered one episode.

While these ran back to back, they are still two separate episodes. They would have airing times 1 hour apart consecutively.

That includes on every log on the web, the dvd, the bluray and everywhere else

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Bang_Theory_(season_12)

For the record this will not affect people that have combined episodes, it will only benifit people that have their episodes correct.

To further my point, look back at the prior 11 seasons that also ALL have 24 episodes.

E23 and E24 was only in US and germany a double feature.

Other countries like Swiss have aired them at two seperated days(weeks).

E24 is called: The Stockholm Syndrome

Check the web, it's listed everywhere as E24

On the Season 12 DVDs, they are 2 separate episodes as well.

The only thing that matters for the main episode listing is how the original network (in this instance, CBS) chooses to initially broadcast the episodes.

But they are still two separate episodes. Episode 23 (T12.16023) and Episode 24 (T12.16024) have also different production codes.

I don't think anyone cares how it initially broadcasted it. The problem is that it doesn't scrape properly. It is clearly two episodes Chuck Lorre Productions #621 (Almost the End) and Chuck Lorre Productions #622 (The End)

CBS's The Big Bang Theory will be closing out its run later this year, and it will do so in a big two-part series finale.

The Big Bang Theory will come to a close with season 12, and series-co-creator Chuck Lorre recently revealed that the show will go out with a big two-part send-off, though those episodes will air back to back.

“It will be an hour — two episodes that will connect,” Lorre told TV Line. “It will be two separate episodes", but Lorre added, "that will have a through line.”

Late in the game, but still... Following your argument, there still should be an episode 24, which is actually the special "UNRAVELING THE MYSTERY: A BIG BANG FAREWELL " which is clearly marked as episode 24 from the archive.org cbs snapshot.

The relevant part is that The Change Constant / The Stockholm Syndrome originally aired as one episode.

You are insisting on a mistake clearly demonstrated by a flood of arguments. It's sad. Here in my country there is a popular saying that says: The worst blind person is the one who doesn't want to see. It fits perfectly here. I am really sorry about that.

If we are sticking to original network, then why we are missing S12E24 here? The rule is ambiguous here. We either have S12E24 as "UNRAVELING THE MYSTERY: A BIG BANG FAREWELL " or "The Stockholm Syndrome." But we are missing S12E24 altogether here, while "UNRAVELING THE MYSTERY: A BIG BANG FAREWELL " is listed in the special season? What's the rule? I am confused.

Based on official production codes should be a good strategy here.

Based on official production codes should be a good strategy here.

TMDb chose to follow the original airing order and format rather than the production codes many, many years ago. This is not something we have the power to change on a whim.

then why we are missing S12E24 here?

That's a good question. I'm fairly certain it was originally locked with 24 episodes. thinking
