Discuss The Big Bang Theory

Now that the show is (allegedly ) over, I'm sure the cast is looking at their last paychecks and thinking "a million dollars a show...hmmm...I'm thinking SPIN-OFF!"

So what's your idea for a Big Bang spin off? Here are some starters:

The Cooper Family A shameless rip off of the Addams Family. Sheldon and Amy are crazy scientists performing wacky experiments much to the confusion of their neighbors.

Big Improvements The gang all move into the same cul-de-sac neighborhood where they use their scientific expertise to solve household problems. (Think laser guided weapons grade hedge trimmers.)

The Stuart Chronicles Stuart becomes a comic book creator. The beginning of the show has him at a work table. It fades into a comic book story with Sheldon, Leonard and the rest as less than competent comic book superheroes along the lines of The Tick.

No mystery about Raj losing his visa. That's just dependent on his work for Cal Tech. Remember when he had to beg Sheldon for a job because his original work was ending, otherwise he'd have to go back to India?

Yes, I remember. I just didn't know why he'd lose his job at Cal Tech. But that's for the writers to figure out, not me. I can't do all their work for them for free! stuck_out_tongue

If whatever he's doing, loses its funding - like before, when his research basically dead-ended - then his "job" is gone. So he either finds another, such as Sheldon's "assistant," or he goes back to India.

Wait, I think I might have something. Back in the 70's there were a lot of shows like The Fugitive and Run for Your Life (even The Hulk). Raj loses his green card and is on the run from the INS. Each episode shows him in a new town taking on a new identity. The kicker is that his green card is in fact on Sheldons night stand. We could call it: The Only Good Indian.

But "He's not dead yet! He feels happy!"

Well that would be wrong now wouldn't it? That title just sort of came to me.

My Brain is Bigger than Everybody's: Game show where Dr. Sheldon Cooper asks science questions but no one can ever beat him at answering them.

Counterfactuals: The Series: A different and bizarre alternate history is pondered each week with show host Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler Cooper.

This week with Wheaton: What is going on in the life of Will Wheaton. Tune in to find out. Kevin Smith co-hosts.

I was in space. Were you ?: Howard takes viewer calls and reminds them that he is an astronaut and not to call him Fruit Loops.

My Two Dads Dr. Alfred Hofstadter and Mary Cooper become a couple and produce a child. The show is set some time in the future (about 10 years) and they are both to old to care for the child. Sheldon and Leonard _both _become legal guardians of their younger sibling.

The Jim Parsons Show In the tradition of Dick Van Dyke, Bob Newhart and Jerry Seinfeld, Jim Parson plays Jim Larson a college professor who thinks he is smarter than everybody and is frequently proven wrong. Alternate title: According to Jim.

Space Girl Penney returns to acting where she gets a job in a sci/fi action series as an intergalactic secret agent/private investigator. Leonard is brought in as a scientific advisor.

Newtons Laws Burt Kibbler and Barry Kripke decide to save money by sharing an apartment. Across the hall is a young aspiring actress from...North Dakota. She works at... Olive Garden. Not sure if this concept will work.

Counterfactuals: The Series: A different and bizarre alternate history is pondered each week with show host Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler Cooper.

I would love it if they actually fell into some kind of CGI version of those worlds. Sort of like Land of the Lost.

Unless they are using a surrogate's egg & a surrogate to carry the child it isn't happening!

Criminy, I hate the formatting on this site! Why can't Tim (or whatever his name is) fix this shit???

As Mary Cooper likes to point out Elizabeth and Zechariah the Baptist were both plenty old before they had little Johnny, so I don't see a problem.

I don't have a problem. It just takes practice.

There are a few little tricks. Such as, if you want to Bold something, you need to be careful about spaces before, after, between...

It never hurts to review what you wrote and edit it until it's right. Also, not caring helps.

Always use the preview to check if what you send is correct. Also make sure there are no spaces between the ** and the start or end of your post. We know what you are trying to say otherwise.

There is a very good movie from around 2000 called "The Worlds Fastest Indian" starring Anthony Hopkins. It is about a man from New Zealand who broke the world's land speed record on a motorcycle. The Indian in the title refers to the make of the motorcycle.

As for Tim's My Two Dads idea... Mary and Alfred would make great parents. Leonard and Sheldon are kind of big babies themselves. Who is going to care for them while they care for the kids. More like my two helpless nerds. Besides what about Penny and Amy? I think all the BBT babies should have a show of their own.

Lentech: After years of working in a lab at Cal Tech, Leonard starts his own scientific technology company "Lentech". This sleek, dark drama follows Leonard from humble entrepreneur to power-hungry soul-less mogul. Penny, unable to cope with no longer having the upper hand in the relationship runs off with (insert name of hot hunk) and baby Hofstadter builds hugging machine 2.0 to replace the love of his/her parents.

Question: Would anyone out there want to see Leonard as the central figure in a spin-off? Could Leonard ever be THE central character in a show, or is his whole purpose to be played off of?

Did I ever tell you that I thought I saw Johnny Galeki on an old Rockford Files? I was so convinced that I went through episode by episode trying to find it. It turned out not to be Johnny but bore a striking resemblance to him. New show: Tales of Interest.

It would have to be a very, very wittle Johnny Galecki to have been on Rockford Files. I will tell you that I was a very, very wittle Lemon at that point. So what is the plot of this "Tales of Interest"? Or am I supposed to fill it in?

Well that would be the point now wouldn't it? Tell us a story that we would find interesting. Of course your entire personhood will be judged on just how interesting it is. So...no pressure.
