1) I’ve only seen the pilot episode of “Young Sheldon”—and I liked the Dad right away. Really enjoyed (and was surprised to see) the “crossover”. Wonderful to see Sheldon find inspiration through his dad—and to see his dad in a “new light”.
2) Glad to see Team Shamy back in the game. Also, surprised Team Chucky revisited The Project. Very seldom have they ever done a “previous on….” Really expected the demised of “The Super Asymmetry Project” to be permanent—never to be mentioned again. Anyone else surprised they revisited it?
3)The opening “things-not-to-say-in-front-of-Sheldon-and Amy” segment was priceless. Who hasn’t tried not-to-say-the-wrong-thing in front of someone who is going through/getting over something?
4) Where is Anu? Is she back home looking at dresses and making wedding plans? (Not saying everyone has to be seen every week—it’s just that now that Raj has found her, seems as if something is missing when everyone is except him.)
5) Happy to see Beverly; she never disappoints; except, of course, for Poor Leonard. Even so, you’d think after all this time Leonard would have been a bit less put-out. After all, when it comes to Beverly hasn’t his “concerns” always played second fiddle to Sheldon’s “concerns”?

Well it seems that we posted the new episode topic just minutes apart with different takes. I suppose I will just move my comments over here to make things clearer on the board and remove my duplicate topic.
My take: So we finally get the Big Bang Theory/Young Sheldon crossover episode, I though it was pretty decent. Some thoughts...
1) The Wolowitz magic act story line was kind of fun. Howard and Bernie are my favorite couple.
2) I am basically tired of Sheldon, young or old.
3) Does Sheldon care more about awards for science or science itself ?
4) Amy is helping Sheldon on his physics dream but I doubt that Sheldon would do the same for her if she was writing a paper or working on an experiment in her field of neuro-biology.
5) I didn't really care if the Super-Asymmetry story line came or went.
6) I suppose there will be an upcoming Young Sheldon episode about recording that pep talk for future Sheldon.
7) I think I was supposed to be touched by Georges pep talk and how it inspired Sheldon but I wasn't.
And now on to your issues
1) I like everyone on Young Sheldon. It is a well casted cast and a completely different and nicer past for Sheldon than he ever spoke of.
2) I addressed this above
3) I say screw Shamy on their whining.
4) Anu will return for the big wedding. She just has to. The show still has to make it certain that she is the right one for Raj.
5) Yes Beverly was good to see but the same old Beverly routine. I expected her to be a little closer to Leonard by now especially after the wedding and reception.

Even though I don't watch "Young Sheldon", I'd watch an epidode if I knew it contain the "pep talk for future Sheldon" scene--just to hear the rest. Of course, I don't think there is anything Young Sheldon could say that would top George.
As for Shamy's whining...
When you've put blood-sweat-tears and that much time and hope into something that goes belly-up you deserve some time to wallow.

I can't see the asymmetry project going anywhere. It has to be realistic in some way and it just sounds so vague. The whole cast of Young Sheldon is pretty good. Young Sheldons advice if we heard it would not be near as good as Georges pep talk.

It wouldn't REALLY be as good, of course. But, also of course, little Sheldon would say things all about himself that Big Sheldon would admire. Because he's Sheldon. Which, also of course, is one reason I have no interest in seeing it.
As for the project, I expected it to return at some point. Mostly because I didn't think, deep down, Sheldon would accept being "disproven." One of the options I presented was that they would find a way to say that their theory superseded the Russian's.

Thought George’s speech was great! I enjoyed every second of it. Felt good to see that George had it in him—and felt good to see Sheldon take it to heart. Besides, it’s well-known that Americans are genetically predisposed to have a thing for Dying-With-Your-Boots-On speeches.
My favorite:
