-1. Don't remember.

-2. No, didn't give one.

-3. Can't thinking of one; real or otherwise.

-4. Didn't care. High school graduation--parents made me go. College graduation-ducked. (Believe it or not the speaker was Paul Simon. Now, the older me wishes the younger me had been a little less so cynical.)

-5a. The Best: Penny - She is the one who has overcome the most to get where she is today.

-5b. The Worst: Sheldon - He'd never stopped talking about himself long enough to impart anything inspirational, uplifting, or useful.

-5c. The Dullest: Leonard - He'd think of himself at that age and never get through it without crying, and then boring everyone else to tears by whining about his inattentive mom, emotionally barren upbringing, and how much better his sibs had it than he did.

My answers a similar to yours although I did attend high school and college graduation.

Penny would be the best. Sheldon would be awful but well worth hearing especially if he had some wine to calm his nerves. Your comment on Leonard is spot on as that is how he spoke to that class of girls to inspire them to go into science and at Sheldons talk. Howard would make sure everyone knew he went to space. Raj would try to hook up with a graduate. Bernie would not be inspiring at all just mean. Amy might be pretty good but the graduates wouldn't pay attention to her.

Hearing/seeing Sen. Paul Simon on C-SPAN always put me to sleep.

Wait, what?

I HATE graduations. I always have. I couldn't stand my own graduations. BORING. I never saw the point of a crowd sitting around for hours watching each student walk and get a diploma. If I never attend another one, it will be too soon. But I know I've got some in my future. I go to show support. But the entire time I'm there, my mind is somewhere else.

The only thing I remember from any graduation is when I attended my niece's, and it was miserably hot. A 95+ degree day. The only reason I remember it is because another student's grandmother dropped dead in the heat about 2 rows in front of us. Tragic to see that graduate taken away from the group to hear her cries in the background.

My nieces's is probably the only one I can remember enjoying. I guess it's so memorable because she was the first, and I was so proud. Her dad, my brother, was proud too. She graduated from a school in a neighboring state; and he chartered a bus for family/friends/church to attend (hot as heck sitting out in that sun--but no one died).

1) Only the valedictorian had a speech

2) Nope

3) Reese Witherspoon's speech in Legally blond. 4) Just wanted to leave because we went to party afterwards.

5) Best :Amy , worst: Leonard or Stuart.

Sorry I meant the speech in general, whoever might have given it. This idea came to mind because it is graduation season and speeches happen to get talked about on the net especially if they later get posted. I hate those kind of speeches. You would give a great speech CQ, you would just get to the point and onto the party.

Best Grad speech from show - I'd pick Penny! lol Worst - Stuart

My brothers hs speaker was local asshat sportscaster named Tim brant, mine was a local news anchor Renee Poussant. College I have no memory. I didn't throw my hat in the air.

Stuart could do OK. Things are looking up…

He has a Godson. His business is (finally) a hot $pot. He was able to one-up Mark Hamill—repeatedly. He has a girl who is raring to make the-beast-with-two-backs with him. And, as far as we know he hasn’t had a shrink to off himself in a while.

Stuart has finally gotten his ducks-in-a-row. So, sad sack Stuart speaking— unamused ; but, ducks-in-a-row Stuart speaking—I could get behind that.

Amy once said "I wish I could tell 13 year old me it does get better!"

Stuart would just have to up the age to 23 year old self or even 33 year old self, it does get better. Whatever age he is supposed to be in the show.

Stuart can go from sad-sack to ducks-in-a-row back to sad-sack within a single episode.

So there's no guarantee which Stuart would write the speech, or which would actually show up to give it.

Not about guarantee--about preference.

Speaking of graduation speeches; would choose smiley over worried any day.

Excerpts from a 2014 graduation speech:

“Now, I know that having a honorary doctorate degree will do nothing for me, but I'm here to tell you today that your degrees, the ones you toiled to get, the ones you actually took classes to earn, those degrees, will also basically do nothing.

Let me clarify. You can't exchange your degree for cash. You can't have a degree audition or interview for you. You cannot eat it. Please don't make love to it. You can maybe smoke it but I wouldn't advise it.” - Charlie Day

But wasn't the preference for ducks-in-a-row Stuart? That was my point. Even if he was asked/invited while ducks-in-a-row, he could easily be sad-sack again by the time of delivery. Maybe even before he starts writing.
