CQ, I think you may be the only one here with any in depth knowledge on the subject of late 90s punk rock. I really have no idea.

I was having flashbacks to the imbd music board and the encyclopedic knowledge of all eras and genres of music those guys had. It was really something special.
Those people could remember at exactly what time in an obscure song the guitar solo was, who played it , what album it was on and what he had for breakfast the morning it was recorded.
Listen to that second song znexy, I think you'll enjoy it.😙

Not bad. The name of the band sounds familiar and it does sound very 90s punk but not too much to be the basic formula sound. Here is a song for all of those IMDB music obsessives you mentioned. They sound too cool for me however.

I F*CKIN love Dandy Warhols. They did the Veronica Mars theme , "We used to be friends" and one my favorites "The money or the simple life honey". They are very similar to the band , Cake but every Cake songs sounds like a different genre than the last.

Wow. These threads lock pretty quick here. No matter.
Here's one from Pete Townshend - FACE THE FACE - LIVE
I'm gonna skip to the 2 minute mark for those who might not like the song - because at that point, they really start rocking. I've played in a jazz band, although it's been decades - and I can tell you when I see a band that LOVES what they are doing - and these people are having as much if not more fun than the audience.
Pete Townshend and The Deep End
If you want the entire tune, here it is.

Man I wish I had seen these guys. Love it at the 3:30 mark where the harmonica dancer kicks in.

Oh Erika what ever happened to the sweet innocent Swiftie you used to be. Or at least I though so. I bet you even have "Dig!" on blu-ray. Anyways Cake has a trumpet. A trumpet! They are like Weezer Jr. I will now look for a song to post. Back in a bit.

Okay here are two songs One is some Canadian singer and the other Japanese pop that could have been recorded in the 90s. They are both dedicated to Raj's eternal quest for love and eveyone else too I might say. Oh and did I say that they have almost the same titles. I actually found one when I was looking for the other.

Cake is more versatile but Weezer makes way better music.

Here's a tune from way back. Some funk they never play anymore, but a cool tune. I remember listening to it on CKLW, AM-800 out of Canada.

My initial reaction to the JD trade is we got very little back in return for a great player. Fox Sports Detroit is spinning this as positively as they can, but in years past, other sellers have gotten much more in return for star players traded at the deadline. I'm beginning to believe that in addition to Brad, we should lose Avila as well and let Chris Illitch pick his own men to run this team. Assuming that Al isn't his guy of course. The old guard came up short, and since Brad has arrived we have consistently underachieved year after year. If Brad comes back - I seriously don't know what I'll do. How he could be rewarded for the results he's produced would be beyond me. Those terrible results have come back to bite us starting with the trade of JB. Unfortunately for us fans there will be more star players leaving this team. These guys we got for JD are mid range prospects from one of the weakest farm systems in MLB. More of the same when we traded Cameron Maybin for a guy who will never throw a major league pitch imo. And our farm system is also one of the worst. I fear we could have gotten more closer to the deadline.
As for JD returning next year as a free agent - Here's why I highly doubt it happens. The Tigers 2018 salaries look very murky to me. Miggy = $30 million. JV (if we keep him) = $28 million. Zimmerman = $24 million. Upton = $22.125 million. VMart = $18 million. Those salaries alone = $122+ million dollars. Ian Kinsler is probably gone after this season, which he really should be. He's begun his decline and picking up a $10 million option on a 36 year old 2B makes little sense in a rebuild.. If Upton doesn't opt out, the small odds we re-sign JD become close to zero. I think it was 2 years ago JD rejected an $85 million extension, which he should have. But now, if JD does well in AZ, his stock is gonna soar. At 30 years old when he becomes a free agent, he's the youngest free agent outfielder out there. He's gonna command the longest term contract, and probably one of the most (if not the most) expensive contract. Probably bigger than Cespedes' contract. JD is the best of a thin bunch. The only players close to him in both age and productivity are Andrew McCutchen, who's been in a decline, Cargo (Carlos Gonzalez), who's been injury prone, and Michael Brantley, but Cleveland has an $11 million club option on him, which they likely exercise. I just don't see the Tigers entering into the kind of spending and bidding war it's gonna take to sign him after this season. Mainly because if we bring him back without addressing the other areas of this team that need attention, at the cost he's going to command, we'll still be doing a lot of losing. I wish him well, and hope he wins in AZ. And I hope he doesn't go to a team in 2018 that I don't like. And I'll hope for the miracle that he returns to Detroit, and will cheer if it happens. But I certainly won't be expecting it.
As for JV - I think he's likely to go to either your Yankees or the Dodgers. He has a full no-trade clause, so he won't be going to Colorado or Milwaukee. And the Tigers won't trade him or anyone of value to a division rival like Cleveland. But the 2 big market cities may appeal to him, as he'd be able to spend more time with his fiance Kate Upton. Plus, the Yanks and Dodgers are the only teams that might pick up 2/3 or 3/4 of his remaining salary. Maybe Houston. Smaller market teams can't withstand his salary. The Tigers are now if a full-blown rebuild. So as much as it sickens me, JV should be traded. I've heard rumors we are possibly putting him together with Justin Wilson for a "Double Justin" trade. It's gonna be interesting. But what's sad is I'll be sitting in an empty ballpark in September watching what amounts to a new Tiger team.

The trade deadline is the day after my birthday, and all I want is a pitcher. PINE-AID -DA just got his Tommy John's so he's likely pitched his last game as a Yankee, and Cashman just pulled off another magical trade to get David Robertson back , some relief help, getting rid of Tyler Clippard in the process, addition by subtraction.
I'm hearing the A's want to purge our farm system in exchange for Sonny Gray. Hopefully we don't get greedy and give up too much Going for it all this year.
You think the Dodgers will finally win it all this year?
