I am loathe to invest more time into AHS. After a promising start the season nose dived into complete nonsense; yet had me watching each week for it to pull up from crashing. It didn't. It just got more f-ked up (and not in a good supernatural way).
The thought of the first season cast merging with "Coven" (will Tass play both the dead girl and the coven leader?) and Jessica Lange returning is indeed enticing. But the same producer who gave us "Cult" is running things so... actors do not make a show on their own. Writers and directors and producers do. Did Lange watch "Cult"? Did she see how inept the show runner had become??

I hadn't even realized the show was back on until someone started to talk about it. I then remembered that I hated "Cult" so much I removed it from my DVR list. I did catch the first two episodes On Demand at this one seems promising.
I guess I'm hooked on the premise

guess I'm waiting for emma roberts... The whole cast has no range. The only interesting character is the guy who showed up. Emma doesn't have range, but she usually gets to say a lot of zingers. And Billie Lourd, is there anyone who plays a role the exact same, every time.?

I am watching this on Netflix. I am up to the Cult season, season 7, and I don't know if I can stand watching much more of this. Hollywood always seems to do this; when a show takes off and gets a following the writers and cast seem to get the idea that promoting their political views is more important than sticking with what made the show work. I think this is partly because they think their fans look up to them, idolize them, enough that they will be influenced by their political viewpoints. So they portray Trump supporters as crazy, violent, bigoted, hateful, lunatics, and they portray Trump haters as mature, adult, sensible people. And then they wonder why they lose ratings share. They are so intent on promoting this slanted and inaccurate depiction of the electorate that they 're willing to damage their own product to express their frustration over the election.
I have been catching some of the current season this year. It seems alright. But I guess I liked the first season the best.
In a show's first season, the crew is primarily focused on creating a good product for the viewers, and not on pushing political or social agendas.

Agree. They went whole hog preaching at us in "Cult". Even worse, it made zero sense that a councilman from a small nowhere town would rise to national prominence and attract a legion of followers. I felt sorry for Even having to waste his talent on such crap.

It will never end:

" "Renewed: "American Horror Story"
Announced: Aug. 3, 2018
Ahead of Seasons 8 and 9 even hitting the air, FX announced that it had ordered a 10th season of the anthology series "American Horror Story." This likely will extend the show to run at least through 2020. "

if this is the case, they need to refresh and have all different actors. The end of the world story line sort of makes sense to end the series , considering they were tying in previous seasons. where do you go from here? you can't... plus I am really tired of Sara Paulson

^ I agree with all of this.
I have not watched "Apocalypse" yet or wanted to- the stench of Cult is still too fresh.
