Discuss Deadwood

The danger of watching a show 10 years later wanting a quick answer to a stupid question ... but, here goes ...

Garret Dillahunt played two characters in the same season (not that I mind seeing him act) and I am wondering if anyone knows what the thought process was behind that. Was it that he was such a beloved co-worker or easier to pay one guy for the season?

I kept thinking Walcott was an evil twin!

I could be mistaken but I don't think Wolcott showed up until season two. Milch has a thing where he doesn't mind recasting an actor on the same show if he feels they are right for the role (and already knows they'll bring the goods). Apparently he did this a few times on NYPD Blue as well.

Also of note, the guy who plays Tim Driscoll in the opening ep's appears later as a recurring minor character. I'll let you sniff that one out :).

You are probably right about Wolcott .... I'm doing a slow binge so it is melding into one long movie.

Bringing someone back does make sense, and like I said I enjoy Dillahunt so I get why he would be back. At one time I did watch soap operas so I really had to shake off the evil twin image.

Now .... Tim Driscoll, hmmm ...... you are punishing me! LOL I will see if I can figure it out but I am close to the end, it may have slipped pass me.

EDIT:

Since I want to keep the boards friendly grin I feel I must be completely honest ..... I went to IMDb to figure this out .... I am ashamed, I have no patience. blush ...... Never, not in a million years would I have caught that they were both the same guy!

Sooooooo..... which other character did he play?

I just found I had never responded to you - so sorry. I came here to see if anyone had mentioned that Charlie Utter is now on Fear the Walking Dead.
I watched a while ago - I think I remember him to be the boarding house owner toward the end of the series.
