Discuter de The Walking Dead

Finally Finished the Show and WOW that was very anti-climatic!

First off I, like many of you, were at one time HUGE fans of the show. I think around season 2, 3,4 it seemed like the whole world was watching it and talking about it. I remember Sunday nights were TWD nights and everyone would drop what they were doing to go home and catch the new episode and Monday it became the water cooler topic for years.

This show was so HUGE in its prime, that when I would fly into ATL a lot for work, I'd randomly start talking to people from all walks of life, young, middle aged, old, and they all were even flying in to go take a Walking Dead tour or just try to go take selfies at the various locations in Atlanta and Georgia. It seemed Sunday nights were all TWD all over social media so you had to avoid social media all together if you missed the newest episode to avoid spoilers.

I already mention to a few of you here that Universal Studio Hollywood theme park even had a full on walk through attraction of TWD that had all the biggest key scenes(Rick in the hospital pilot, the Saviors whistling and chasing you, etc.) from the show. It was done very well and realistic. It felt like you were really in the show and in that TWD universe!

Then later on, I like many of you, just gave up on the show all together. No longer having any interest at all in catching up or finishing it. I know most people quit the show after Glenn died because he was so popular or because he died in such an extreme gruesome manner? I tried to hang on and watch the show for like another season or two after Glenn gets murdered. I made it up to like when the Whispers were really gaining power and taking over, but just lost interest and could not even force myself to watch it.

So finally Netflix gets the whole entire show on their platform and I'm like hey what the hell I start binging it while I run on my elliptical machine. So thats what I did I binged the rest of the seasons and episodes, that I left off on and finished the entire show.

I will say that season 11 started off pretty cool like a cool 1990's action flick with them coming down on wires into that opening scene. The Alpha character seemed to be the last menacing bad guy leader in the show and once they killed her off, there was never a sense of a real menacing intimidating bad guy leader ever again. Everyone else who came into the show just seemed weak, and a joke, or like even totally mis-casted. The Pope seemed like a real dork unconvincing tough guy with glasses who pretty much got outsmarted, out muscled and killed pretty easily. He wasn't even smart enough to know Daryl was never even loyal to him. When he dies its like what was the point of that? The Pope's gang have a few episodes to build up nothing and just get killed off. Their whole big climatic surprise was that they plan to use big fire works to shoot at everyone? Really? did the TWD totally lose their budget towards the end.

Then Leah Shaw kills the Pope and tries to take power over Pope's gang like WHAAAT? What was the point of that even only to die so quickly and easy by Daryl who it seemed Daryl had romantic feelings for but never even got any play from. Why hasn't Daryl got any play or action with the ladies at all. He never got laid or kissed a girl in the entire show right? Is he the A-Sexual Hero of all time or something????

So we then see the Commonwealth as a good place of stability and the closest thing to a pre-zombie world with a suburban lifestyle, ran by a corrupt politician and her douchey entitled son. It is clear some ish will go down as nothing ever ends up being good or stable in the TWD. The common people rise up only for the governor Karen to turn the police on them and lock them up to get eaten by the zombies. We see the zombies now can pick up items and climb things but then nothing ever happens besides that so why even add that to the story???

In the finale we see Eugene is broken out freely to run for cover with the rest of the main cast to escape to a hospital. Was this the original hospital that Rick is in the pilot, did we come full circle or no its just another random hospital that they run into? It doesn't seem to matter as the finale was already doomed to not be good at all.

We then see Maggie saves Governor Karen instead of killing her and they lock her up instead but why the shows ending why even do this???

Rosita is the only main main cast who dies which sucks because shes a mom a pretty popular well liked character and one of the only few hot chicks on the show. Why kill her off but let all the inferior cast who barely have any lines live on? Maybe she absolutely did not want to be in any of the crappy spin offs coming next?

We then see Michonne and Rick writing letters to each other and Michonne dressed like a samurai on a horse which was probably the only cool thing in the finale and Rick barefoot on a beach with zombies getting picked up by a helicopter. That does not do anything at all for explaining or concluding anything, it doesn't even motivate you to watch his spin off either.

Then we have everyone saying we are still alive or some crap like that and then it ends with Judith staring into the garden below her with some other kid maybe Rosita's or Rick's real biological son with Michonne? I really dont give a shat at all. Judith then has the final word saying shes still alive or some weak crap like that and the show ends. Like WHAAAAAT??? Why even have Judith be the final scene of the show, she was barely a main character until the very end. Also Judith is not even Rick's biological daughter as Kirkman revealed it was indeed Shane's daughter from F'n Rick's horrible wife, when they thought he was dead at the beginning of the show. I get that the comics had Carl basically talking about Rick and what a life he led to save everyone and thats how the comics end but why have Judith be the one to end the show on as if that even means anything or concludes anything.

This was not even a finale in the sense that nothing really gets summed up, concluded or any closure was provided, if anything it was like a very weak vague mid season cliff hanger with nothing hanging off the cliff. This was really bad.

Another reason I wanted to see what happens was I heard Maggie and Negan will be having a spin off together like WHAAAT? Why would they team up for? So I was like watching the final seasons to see how they made those two characters interact and get along or forgive each other or whatever and nothing it just seemed like very lazy writing to keep Negan since he seemed to be a new audience favorite, when it would not make sense that Maggie and even the others would forgive and accept him into their group after all he did to them. I see they will end up in NYC for their spin off. Will being in NYC even matter? Will anyone even care to watch?

Then I see Daryl will end up in Paris, France for his spin off like really? Like WTF? So Daryl a hillbilly will somehow learn French to communicate with everyone on that new show? and France??? come on now, how does that even make any sense at all.

Again this show used to be so BIG and GOOD in its prime, but it fell off, jumped shark harder than anything else in tv history. As big as the show was, its funny how only Glenn(Steve Yeun ) and Shane(John Bernthal) are like the only ones still with successful thriving careers. A lot of the other main cast never work at all.

In conclusion I'll say in like 10 years we all know they'll just reboot this whole franchise all over again and it will probably even be another huge hit only to jump shark again 6 years later again LOL.
