Discuss The Walking Dead

Through nine seasons, with all the death and decay, yet there's never been maggots crawling out of orifices or under bodies laying on the ground, or anything. In fact, no buzzing sound of flies, no one swatting flies out of their face...

Is that a function of the cause of death? Or just a convenient oversight that was not worth the cost to create on set/location?

Maybe cos the zombies are toxic? But I'm guessing no budget as well to add flies

If they would be toxic everyone would be sick constantly. This is just an oversight I think. No one ever complains about the smell either.

Most would probably be immune to the smell already, plus it looks like most of them don't even shower (daryl) so maybe not that big of a deal.

Sometimes while watching the show, I'll recall the nasties in Lucio Fulci's Zombie Flesh Eaters, also titled Zombi 2. Now those bad boys had maggots wriggling around in their eye sockets.

Wasn't there a maggot infested walker a couple of episodes ago? Oh wait, that was spiders.
