Discuss The Walking Dead

He has not mentioned what his future projects after TWD, I am not sure if he is leaving on his own terms or is he being forced out due to changes in the storyline. I am hoping that they wrap this series up in the next couple of years.

Na I don't think he was kicked out They need him because TWD is Rik and his journey. I think he and a few of the other cast members didn't like how the bosses treated Chandler (Carl), plus the writing has been awful for the past 3 seasons, so he is getting out while he can. Maybe killing Carl off was the last straw. I cannot stress how much I loved this show when it first started, but since season 6, my heart is just not in it any more. I will watch this season to see how Rik leaves, then I'm done.

They really should wrap up the show.

I like how they are letting him go, however they are giving Norman a huge pay raise to become the new lead of the series, will see what happens after the last episode that Rick is in.

Yea, it will be very strange not having Rik on the show anymore. They need to get rid of Negan.

Reedus deserves the pay raise because he will actually have to learn lines. It will be odd to see the show go on without Rick. The show is dying a slow death already...Rick leaving will only speed things up a little. I used to like Daryl, but he's become such a caricature of himself in recent seasons. If they manage to pull it off and turn in a decent season, then I'll give credit where credit is due.

It is dying a slow death and AMC is too greedy to see the writing on the wall. They're still making money from the show so they're pushing on without their original lead. Something about that just feels wrong. They need to just wrap it up and be done with it. The show has been going downhill since Negan and Lucille were introduced in that brutal way. They should have killed him and be done.

I will continue to watch until Rick is gone and someone told me that he was gone by episode 5, not sure how true that is, but I really don't see how they can go on without Rick.

I wonder how that goes, given his screen time during last season.

So I read there will be 10 more years of TWD. Don't they know when to stop? https://uk.ign.com/articles/2018/09/19/the-walking-dead-has-plans-for-10-more-years-of-content-says-amc-boss

HahA! They can't be serious. I wonder which cast members would even want to stick around another 10 years? Hopefully someone with enough good sense will pull the plug before they run this show farther into the ground.

No one really cares if you quit the show. There are people that will still watch because they are dorks like Chris Hardwick, or they just plain love zombies. I will keep watching because I want to know what happens. The Whisperers seemed cool in the trailer. Will it be good to our expectations? I doubt it. I mean there are people who think FTWD is a good show. So go ahead and quit. You are probably better off just reading a summary of the episode. But for me it's going to be a tradition to the end.

Well, I certainly want to know what happens to the characters in the show, but I am quitting after Andy leaves. I just can't watch Negan or Daryl , take over the lead.

I agree. I gave up after S7 but S6 was pretty bad too. The pacing and the writing has been horrendous.

Of course they don't. We are talking about a network that has a show about a show right after the show (Talking Dead)! They are all about milking it to the max.

I could not agree more. Daryl or Negan as the lead will be the end for me.

Also, if this is the way the show is going, how can they think we would accept Negan as the leader when he brutally murdered 2 of our most loved characters and also the way he murdered others too i.e. chucked the doctor into the furnace.

Not only that but he pretty much raped all those girls that became his "wives" by taking advantage of the situation. He's a horrible human being and in those times he deserves the death penalty for sure.
