Discuss Game of Thrones

Personally I just want the best show possible but...

Dany seems to be turning into a royal bîtch. bend the knee this. bend the knee that. Join me or die. Sounding more and more like the people she started out hating.

The Tyrells declared themselves and acted as enemies of the Crown in the moment their fleet joined Daenerys and helped her invasion. The Lannisters were amply justified in all they did.

Yes, but _Enemies of the Crown _is the sticking point. Cersei wears the crown because she says she is the queen. But Margaery Tyrell used to be the queen. Now Dany claims to be the queen.

Just about anyone can be accused of being an enemy of the crown; the question is which crown?

Cersei was formally acclaimed to the throne without violence after the death of the previous king. She is the most legitimate ruler the Seven Kingdoms ever had.

I stopped rooting for Dany the moment she became arrogant towards her enemies. I don't like arrogance. Dany is the only ruler who brags about her successes.

So it's okay to poison, assassinate, and murder people as long as they're not arrogant? lol.

@Heisenberg12 said:

She's clearly the protagonist in the story. If not for her, the show would only be about half as good.

Anyone who says this story has one clear protagonist is an utter fool.

I never said that that was okay. I'm answering the original post about whether we still root for Dany. I was rooting for her until she became arrogant. I'm rooting for Jon Snow now. Jon is the most humble ruler. Maybe because he was betrayed by his own men? I don't know why but I really like Jon Snow more now than I did before his death. I know that he doesn't have a chance at the throne unless he marries Dany, which that would be a cool possibility.

And yes, she is the main protagonist. The other one got his head chopped off in season 1. Then his wife got her throat slit. So, that leaves Dani. I go from the start, not the ones who pop up and suddenly develop because the others died. This is a finite story. Dany has been the lead since episode 1.

There are other protagonists, like Arya, but they're not as central to the plot. Snow is another main one, but his character hasn't been as well written.

I'm right no matter what you say.

Jon is humble and wants to be just. He has a couple of flaws, of course, but really is an overall good guy. Daenerys has a disgusting personality. I want her fans to die screaming when she does.

Jon is just okay...I don't like him or dislike him, but I lean more towards liking him because he's allies with Sansa, Arya, Bran, Tyrion, and Dani. There's a really good article that just came out on Business Insider explaining why Jon Snow is "the worst written character" on Game of Thrones contrasting with Danaerys, who is the best written. It's pretty harsh of an assessment, but I tend to agree with it.

His story is just so long and drawn out compared with even the supporting characters. The show just never got me to jump aboard the Jon Snow wagon. He's okay, but I don't like him like I did Ned Stark, Robb Stark, Catelyn, or the ones still on like Dany, Tyrion, Arya, or even Brienne. (Yes, I like Brienne). I think I may even like Jaime more than Snow.

It's funny that you like all the arrogant characters like Ned, Tyrion, Arya, Lady Catelyn, Sansa and Brienne. I like Jamie now too but I think that's because I like the actor so much more since I saw him in Shot Caller. Nikolaj is a good actor.

And yes, she is the main protagonist.

Haha. I guess I just view the Lannisters as the enemies and antagonists. It all starts with them pushing Bran out the window and then covering it up, and then trying to kill him again anyway. Then, Cersei never liked Robert and cheated on him (albeit sure, he cheated on her and it was a political marriage, but he is the king and that's what they do) with her brother. They had Robert killed, and then they constantly schemed to arrange marriages so they could hold power (they were arrogant all the while). Then came Joffrey, and the wedding massacre of Catelyn. Tywin was going to kill his own son, Tyrion, knowing he might be innocent. The whole family is a bunch of lying, scheming snakes, and Cersei is despicable.

So I like any characters who are against the Lannisters....But I also just liked how these characters' stories unfolded and some of their scenes the most.

Yes, the guy who plays Jaime is a good actor. If it wasn't for his incestuous relationship with Cersei, I would like him more as a character.

Danidiot Heisenberg 12. I shudder at the thought there are at least 11 others.

Yep. Dani is the main lead protagonist and always has been. the Lannisters are the enemy. The writers clearly love Dani (and Arya) the most so it's clear that is their concept. it's really simple to deduce. She'll probably die though in the end.

Also, what I think about your favorite show? It's not that good. If it wasn't for Danaerys I wouldn't be watching.

Most of it is written like it's being written by 12 year olds.

Danaerys is the only reason I watched the show after season 1. Most of the rest of it sucks except for the visuals and the few cinematic battle scenes.

The writing is awful most of the time and appeals to teenagers. People with minds like yours.

Acclaimed by whom? Qyburn, backed by the Mountain? I don't remember anyone else acclaiming Cersei, other than a half-hearted echo of Qyburn's Long may she reign from some assembled courtiers who looked scared to death.

(I do agree with those who think Jon Snow is best suited to rule, but who knows if he'll even survive? It wouldn't surprise me if the Powers That Be decide on a queen instead of a king, for PC reasons.)

Without violence? She organized the big massacre in Winds of Winter that killed the new king's wife to be, and inadvertently got power back when he jumped out the window in response.
