Discuss Breaking Bad

Don't get me wrong, loved the whole show and Season 5 still had some great moments, but was the Season 4 finale not the perfect way for this show to bow out?

If you ask me, it should've ended after the first season. I really gave this a shot, but it already took me like, two weeks to get through those first seven episodes or so. And I gave season 2 a try afterward, but I didn't like it any better (or at all), so I just quit it. Months later, I thought I'd give it a short again and watched S02E03, but no, still a big fat no stuck_out_tongue

Absolutely. I seem to be the only person who did not like season 5 at all. It was kind of predictable. The last episode of season 4 was the natural ending, but by that time the series had gotten so big that they hat to wrap it up with a non open ended finale. I found it kind of lame though.

@marr

It doesn't get good untill the middle of season 2. And it doesn't get great untill season 3. It takes a while to get going, but it's worth it.

I may be alone on this, but I liked the fact that Breaking Bad at least got a proper ending.

Usually, succesful franchises just go on and on, until most of the viewers check out (I'm looking at you, Lost). unamused

I wouldn't have minded if it ended after season 4 as Gus was the main antagonist that Walt finally had to deal with, but Im glad they had more episodes and a 5th season. The only problem I had with the series ending was that I thought it was weak. I wanted more blood and carnage. It was too tidy. I wanted Skyler gone, Marie gone, etc. total annihilation.

No, there was still too much story to tell after Gus' demise to end it right then and there... Not to mention there'd be too many loose ends hanging about, such as Walt and Jesse being record on tape in the lab (and the resturant, factory farm, etc.), Mike still being alive, Hank never discovering who Heisenberg is, etc.

I personally thought there should have been one season extra rather than one less, but that's just me.

Uncle Jack was the most honorable criminal on the show.

It would have been a great way to end the series, with Walt rising up to the ranks as the top dog in the drug business. However, it would have left so many loose ends unresolved.

To me, the proper ending to the show was the episode "Ozymandias."

Madrigal was one of my favorite episodes. I also liked the new team, without Gus.

I'm glad it lasted longer.
