Discuss Dragon Ball

I know there's been a lot of reports surrounding Dragon Ball and the season numbering. Toei's Official Divisions is generally accepted as the proper season numbering for the show, but TMDB only reports a single season. The API provides for a way to select alternative seasoning, but even that does not function because every episode, on every season order, is label with season 1. Even when scraping with an NFO file and using the url https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/12609-dragon-ball/episode_group/5b2c9b6c925141351900193b for the official order, TMDB does not return any episode past season 1. This causes constant problems with attached services like Trakt and library issues in Kodi.

This series was originally broadcasted in Japan without season breaks, with continuous episodes numbering. Consequently, this series should be listed here as one single season.

Using the episode group link in Kodi work perfectly well and will scrape correctly as 6 seasons. But you need to start from scratch. You couldn't convert an already scraped series to the use of an episode group. You should first completely remove the series from Kodi.

Yes, I've tried that, and placed the tvshow.nfo file containing only the URL in the folder with the episodes as directed in the wiki. TMDB only scrapes the first 13 episodes, season 1, and then ignores the rest. Is the wiki out of date on the proper formatting for the NFO file? https://kodi.wiki/view/NFO_files/Parsing

Some more information that may or may not be relevant... I've always used TVDB to get TV information in the past, but recently I've had issues with trakt properly tracking the watched status of episodes. I'm told I have to switch my scraper to TMDB for it to work correctly now since they switched. I've never has an issue with the seasons populating correctly from TVDB, only since the switch to TMDB for several shows.

Here is a partial list as an example for Dragon Ball, which is in a folder named "Dragon Ball (1986)".

S01E01 - Secret of the Dragon Balls.mkv S01E02 - The Emperor's Quest.mkv S01E03 - The Nimbus Cloud of Roshi.mkv S01E04 - Oolong the Terrible.mkv S01E05 - Yamcha the Desert Bandit.mkv S01E06 - Keep an Eye on the Dragon Balls.mkv S01E07 - The Ox-King on Fire Mountain.mkv S01E08 - The Kamehameha Wave.mkv S01E09 - Boss Rabbit's Magic Touch.mkv S01E10 - The Dragon Balls are Stolen!.mkv S01E11 - The Penalty is Pinball.mkv S01E12 - A Wish to the Eternal Dragon.mkv S01E13 - The Legend of Goku.mkv S02E01 - Goku's Rival.mkv S02E02 - Look out for Launch!.mkv S02E03 - Find That Stone.mkv S02E04 - Milk Delivery.mkv S02E05 - The Turtle Hermit Way.mkv S02E06 - The Tournament Begins.mkv S02E07 - Elimination Round.mkv S02E08 - Smells Like Trouble.mkv S02E09 - Quarter Finals Begin.mkv S02E10 - Monster Beast Giran.mkv S02E11 - Krillin's Frantic Attack!.mkv S02E12 - Danger From Above.mkv S02E13 - The Grand Finals.mkv S02E14 - Number One Under The Moon.mkv S02E15 - The Final Blow.mkv S03E01 - The Roaming Lake.mkv S03E02 - Pilaf and The Mystery Force.mkv S03E03 - Wedding Plans.mkv S03E04 - The Flying Fortress Vanished!.mkv S03E05 - The Legend of a Dragon.mkv

Edit: I do not know why it will not show as a list?

The numbering is correct.

Here is a discussion I had with another user regarding the use of the episode groups.

I can't help you more.

Thank you, it seems I was using the wrong TMDB scraper, the episodes now scrape properly, but every season shows a Season One poster. Is there a way I can update the show to have the correct posters?

Episodes groups doesn't carry season posters. So you can't get them from us.

Perhaps you can manually put them in Kodi, but I can't help you for that.

The poster it is loading doesn't even appear in the media for the series, it seems strange it would load a Season One poster, if "officially" there aren't any seasons. I'm not sure it's going to matter anyways, it seems trakt still isn't matching the episodes past season 1.

Seasonal posters are available here.

It "officially" has one single season. But, English posters are available for multiple seasons as it has been later split in multiple "seasons" in English.

I don't use Trakt, so I can't help you on this subject.
