Sometimes the search for a relative takes an unexpected turn such as with the story of Jean Smith, which hasn’t been shown before. She knew her birth father was an American GI but hadn’t been able to trace him. A DNA search found her sister who, incredibly, beat the LLF team to it by contacting Jean directly. Annie Sims’s mother gave her up for adoption while keeping her older sister. Understandably Annie wanted to know why. She was eventually reunited with her mother and sister but, as with many of these reunions, there were more emotional discoveries for Jean and Annie, which we’re updated on tonight.
