Discuss Mad Men

I felt the ending was OK. I was surprised Roger married Megan's mom. I felt bad for Betty's family. I am glad Peggy found a guy to settle down with. It was also cool Joan established her own agency. I wonder how Don will turn around his hot mess life. Sweet Pete and Trudy reconciled. What is your opinion about the last season?

Most of the characters you mentioned, I discussed in this thread https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1104-mad-men/discuss/5924f345c3a3687870007458

As I mentioned over there, I thought Joan's character arc was a failure, but I realize now I ought to see it as a success! (I'm going to go back to that thread and make the correction, too!) Whereas she chose work over what might have been a good relationship, I now realize this was a triumph two ways. First, she finally got respect for the value of her work; and, second, instead of marrying that guy while giving most of her time, energy, and attention to her work, she told the guy straight up she wanted to focus on her work. The previous generation Mad Men would have married the person and then neglected them for work.

Peggy, too, succeeded, in that she did find a relationship with a guy who really dug her. She had her fair share of trysts, and unbalanced relationships. But she did not give in to being cynical, or immerse herself in work with no life balance.

All in all, Mad Men is easily among my favourite TV shows of all-time. I'm going through it again right now, and it remains scintillating! .
