番禺一带数十年前马贼猖狂，马贼十虎虽被剿灭，但其抢掠的金银财宝却没有追回，当地埋藏有宝藏的说法一直流传了下来。这天，香港某拍卖行公告即将拍卖当年圆明园大水法中的十二兽铜头之一的狗铜头，成了全城热点；与此同时，坐落在番禺的全国最大的动物园扩建中竟意外掘出狗铜头！一时间真假狗铜头引起了轩然大波。大学教授招学文（胡枫 饰）前往番禺鉴证后，发现番禺出土的的确是真正的狗铜头，原来宝藏的传说果真空穴来风，其他的兽铜头也极有可能就埋在附近！

　　香港富商何正雄一直致力于保护国家文物，得知此消息后出钱资助学文找寻其他失踪的兽铜头，他的孙子峻峰（陈浩民 饰）天资聪颖、精通天文地理而且极具侦探头脑，爷爷希望他能留在大陆继承自己的事业，而母亲却希望他回港发展。俊峰为了避免得罪任何一方，暂时先和好友建星（唐文龙 饰）来到了动物园工作，一班年轻人在工作生出了很多笑话，建星更爱上了动物园的杂技演员路丹（钟嘉欣 饰）。正雄要求俊峰协助招学文寻找其他失踪的兽铜头，于是俊峰开始了他的寻宝之旅。

An antique from the Qing Dynasty is excavated during the construction work for the expansion of the Fei Cheung Zoo in Panyu. It is later verified as part of the legendary Ten Tigers’ treasure. A foreign investor sends an archaeological professor and his grandson HO CHUNG FUNG (CHAN HO MAN, BENNY) to search for the rest of the hidden treasure in order to protect these national relics.
