Discuss Verrückter wilder Westen

In one ep James West uses an elevator in I think a hotel. Elevators began as passenger carriers as early ( as far as we know) as 1857. Now, it seems realistic as the year is supposed to be about 1869 and passenger elevators got super popular right after their Big Apple intro. But, they tended to be steam elevators rather than electric. And the doors to this elevator seem to open themselves. I thought West was alone in the elevator ( though an elevator man may have been in a hidden corner of the elevator actually operating it). A problem it seems after all. However, in real life in 1881 the White House got, I think, an electric elevator. And for the telephone ( another invention of course) they invented a way for telephones wires to connect themselves to other ones thus connecting calls very early on but they decided to create employment with operators so they about totally suppressed the invention for decades. In short it was possible in 1869 for someone to use an electric elevator that had buttons and would automatically take you to a different floor and the doors open and close by themselves.
