During my and my closest-in-age older brother's growing up years, this was for a very long time (as in during multiple years) probably our very favourite hour-long action series. We both were crazy about it. Of course, when we were watching, it was already, by then, in syndication reruns. (I recall still watching and very much enjoying the reruns during my high school years.) The series had terrific both heroes and villains. Although set in historic times, it was a very cool show.

Incidentally, it was during the 1970s that I was watching this. Probably we'd also seen at least some of the episodes back when they were in their first - original - runs during the late '60s. But I was a little kid back then, so don't really remember much from that early on.
