"Another fun-filled episode. It is body swapping time. Who with ...?"
"After the Gorn encounter, the Enterprise crew gets some well-deserved shore leave. Captain Pike, however, must stay to help Admiral April: there are crucial diplomatic negotiations with the R’Ongovian Protectorate."
"Meanwhile Una and La’an don't have any time off either, but they decide to take advantage of the nearly-empty starship to have some fun together. Una wants to prove that the crew is wrong by giving her the nickname 'Where fun goes to die'."
"Is Dr. M’Benga going fishing?"
"Spock is back on Vulcan to reconnect with his fiancée T'Pring through an ancient Vulcan ritual: the Koon-ut-kal-if-fee. He is struggling with himself. There is an internal battle between his two halves: his human side and his Vulcan side. T'Pring sees that he now has 'human' ears and chooses Kal-if-fee. Is it all a terrible dream or a foreboding?"
"Later Spock gets a visit from her, to spend some quality time together and rekindle their dwindling romance. 'Plant the seed of doubt and watch it grow'."
"Christine gives Spock some advice on relationships."
Christine: "You know, Spock, you're clearly an extraordinarily intelligent person."
Spock: "Thank you."
Christine: "But you're also an idiot."
Spock: "I feel I should have seen that coming. Please, elucidate."
Christine: "You told her you were gonna be home for dinner and then you weren't."
Spock: "I found myself in an impossible circumstance where I was unable to reconcile my many duties..."
"Christine slaps Spock."
Spock: "That is not a human gesture I am familiar with."
Christine: "It's designed to break old habits. You're supposed to put her ahead of your duties. That's what being in a relationship is, it's mutual sacrifice. Pretty much why I avoid them."
Spock: "I am concerned that T'Pring thinks I am an incompatible mate because I'm half-human."
Christine: "Look, uuh, maybe T'Pring just feels misunderstood. If the human thing is big in her head, you just have to make her see that you get her as a Vulcan."
Spock: "Thank you for your advice. If I can ever return the favor, please do not hesitate to ask."
Christine: "What are friends for?"
Spock: "What are friends for..."
Christine: "That was a rhetorical, Spock."
Spock: "Oh, I know. Humans are almost as easy to tease as Vulcans."
"Then Spock goes back to his quarters and - to improve his understanding of T'Pring - he suggests that they participate in another ancient Vulcan ritual to share their Katras. She consents and they start the ritual. However, something goes wrong with this soul-sharing and they switch bodies. Can it be reversed?"

Ciao wonder2wonder , I can't sleep so I thought to take a look at the next episode summary you provided.
I love the pictures on Vulcan ..always loved those Vulcan's sunset hues. T'Pau looks very young in comparison to the TOS one ...she was old and cranky looking. You entitled some links with the name T'Pol .. I'm guessing this is a slip-up and that you meant T'Pring.
I saw the video Koon-ut-kal-if-fee.
I'm somewhat confused ... you mention a body shift between Spock and T'Pring ... but then in the video I see two Spocks .. so we get like in the TOS episode The Enemy Within a double Spock ....one Vulcan and one Human and they end up fighting each other ? I don't dislike the idea ... so is Spock in pon farr ?

@sunshine62 Ciao.
The videoclip is of the beginning of the episode when Spock is having a nightmare. He wakes up and is disturbed. Later he meets T'Pring for real and because she thinks that he has become too human, Spock decides to do some soul-sharing - exchange Katras - with T'Pring. Something goes wrong and they switch bodies, like Kirk and his ex-lover Dr. Janice Lester in (S)TOS "Turnabout Intruder". This time there is no machine, just a Vulcan ritual.
Unlike the (S)TOS episode, this is a fun one where T'Pring has to act like Spock and do his duties and Spock has to do hers.
The only Pon Farr I see is at the end when Spock and T'Pring are making love.
• Spock & T’Pring Switch Bodies.
Side notes:
There is a lot of fanfiction - also in Star Trek - about body swapping, often between a man and a woman, and in movies and other television shows too.
Of course there are also Star Trek stories with other topics . For example in another fanfic T'Pol is the mother of Sarek, grandmother of Spock. And there are some where Spock finds out that he has a child he never knew of , one with Zarabeth, one with Leila, and so on.
This is the first episode in (S)SNW where characters experience how it feels like to be of a different gender.
In episode 7 - continuing the trend to expand the LGBTQIA2S+ representation in Star Trek with trans director Sydney Freeland - there will be a real-life transwoman actor (Jesse James Keitel) playing non-binary Dr. Aspen, who has a special connection with Spock.
What about episoder 6? Then it's Pike's turn to have one of his old flames - a woman he once loved - come back in his life.

So in the beginning Spock dreams of being spilt into two Spocks : one Vulcan and one Human ..I actually like the premise ..not sure about the mind switch between Spock and T'Pring... like I said fun is not my cup of tea..Trouble with Tribbles (despite I think the critters are cute) is at the end of my like list.

I already have a hard time coping with canon being thrown out of the window in ST.Discovery ( only saw first two seasons), in JJ.Abrams films and Strange New Worlds, so Star trek fanfic is not for me, wonder2wonder. I didn't buy years ago a novel about Spock and Zarabeth's Son but that was a sweet ( and plausible) follow up from All Our Yesterdays.

I know what LGBT means but what the heck is : QIA2S+ .
Trans director Sydney Freeland ? I don't get why being a trans director needs to be pointed out by the producers. Are they better directors?
Transwoman? does that mean Jesse James Keitel ( any connection to the actor Harvey Keitel ) was born a SHE and now is a HE or vice-versa?
Non-binary means this Dr.Aspen had no sex .. not male or female?

LGTBQIA2S+: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and/or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Two-Spirit, and the countless affirmative ways in which people choose to self-identify.
Transwoman: a transgender person - biologically male - who has transitioned from male to female.
A well-known transwoman is Caitlyn Jenner, who was born as male William Bruce Jenner and won the Gold Medal in the men's decathlon event at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.
A non-binary person is someone who does not identify as exclusively a man or a woman. Someone who is non-binary might feel like a mix of genders, or like they have no gender at all.
They prefer you use the pronoun 'they' instead of 'he' or 'she'.
A famous singer and actor who has decided to be non-binary is Demi Lovato. So, you don't say 'She' is singing while playing 'her' guitar, but you now say 'They' are singing while playing 'their' guitar.

Questioning ,Queer and Two Spirits ? people actually go around saying they are Two Spirits? 😳

People are free to feel as they wish but that the English language has to be modified to suit them, now that is just nuts.
They is .." is not correct English. Talking about going over board.

Oh my, I made a mistake.
When using the non-binary 'they', use the verb that sounds the most familiar. 'They are' is still the correct choice when referring to a single person, rather than 'they is'.
So in my example about Demi being non-binary , instead of 'She is' singing while playing 'her' guitar, you should say 'They are' singing while playing 'their' guitar, even when 'they' is one person.

Ciao wonder2wonder ! no harm done ..it's still ridiculous.
Do you think there is chemistry between Spock and the actress that plays T"Pring. From what little I've seen , there seem little.
I'm nitpicking now : Spock's sideburns seem painted and what's going on with Pike's hair..it looks like a huge wave

Ciao wonder2wonder, I can see you are enjoying the romance.
Personally, I wish the writers had not gone so far with Spock and T"Pring. They have destroyed, nullified one of my all-time favourite TOS episodes.
Pike, instead is a character that can be developed. The writers have a whole background to invent.
No offense intended, but the scene you provided looked silly because they clearly had just made love yet Pike's wave was impeccable.. reminded me of those TV shows where the patient in the hospital bed is wearing make-up and false eyelashes. The production spends million on details and then they give Pike a ridiculous hairdo from the 50s. It looks like the one Jim Carrey sported in that nutty film Ace Ventura (I've seen the trailer)
Don't you find it distracting?

I don't really like alll those romances. They remind me of soap series, and Star Trek should be about science fiction and the adventures in space, not in bed. There are enough novels and fanfiction written about the love-life of these characters. I can write and read those, if I want to, or I can watch one of those 'telenovelas'. Star Trek should be science fiction like what got me interested in the first place.
So, in the series we'll follow the romance of Spock and T'Pring, their problems and affairs with others, and finally the Koon-ut-kal-if-fee seven years later.
But that is the trend now in all shows.
They call his hairstyle 'Pike's Peak' and fans everywhere love it. They compare it with that of 1960s Elvis Presley or the Cartoon Network character Johnny Bravo. In each episode his hairdo is slightly different, so fans can compare which one they like the best. I try not to be bothered too much by it and focus on the actual plot of the episode.

Well, seeing I have only seen a few snippets ( thanks to you w2w) it's hard to ignore Pike's Peak I can see why it has become a fun topic ...I'm sure in Star Trek Discovery Pike didn't sport that monstrosity.
I wonder if Spock's parents will appear in one of the coming episodes..so is T'Pring going to be a regular guess in this first season?
Do you have a favourite character? I can only go by looks for obvious reasons ..I like Christine Chapel.

again writers still haven't watched TOS Amok Time ,because then they would have known that Spock and T'Pring had been designated for each other when they were still kids. Also Pon Far is a condition most Vulcans go through every 7 years and from what I got from Amok Time Spock and T'Pring hadn't seen each other until they were kids so this whole episode is humbug.
