This was a 2020 six-part series on HBO/HBO Max about amateur sleuth McNamara's dogged investigation to find the Golden State Killer. She was successful in her quest, but sadly died of an accidental drug overdose before the killer was brought to justice. The TV series is the work of comedian Patton Oswalt (her husband) and others, and they just added a seventh episode covering the trial. This is TV at its best.
