Na de val van de regering - en de Eerste Republiek - verandert Italië in 1994 voorgoed. Spindokter Leo en Berlusconi dreigen hun verworven macht te verliezen. Populist Pietro zit vast in zijn oude slechte gewoontes en kan de enige vrouw van wie hij ooit heeft gehouden niet vergeten. Veronica, de voormalige tv-ster die nu als politica in het parlement zit, moet beslissen wie de man in haar leven wordt.
