The Movie Database Support

I've noticed that if I have a foreign language show and attempt to scrape media for it, this often results in no results. Testing today with "The Black Forest Murders (2025)" demonstrated that if I change the language of the Poster to "English", this resolves the problem. The issue for me seems to be that KODI is scraping for my language (English) and finds no poster image for that language, therefore nothing is downloaded. I've downloaded the German language poster and then uploaded it again and tagged it as English so that a post is downloaded for either language. It would be ideal if the source language poster was "returned" if the user's specific language wasn't available, although I'm aware some might think this an issue with the KODI tmdb scraper rather than the TMDB data.

I had to remove this duplicated image.

In Kodi, you need to select the image of the poster you want.

There is no image to select, to be specific, unless I upload an image and tag it as English, then Kodi will not download anything for me to select.

You need to select German for the images language for that series in Kodi.

I've uploaded the English poster image (no "Spuren" text overlaid, and also the episode images and tagged them in English.

According to my KODI logs, no images were downloaded in any language. I'm happy to accept that it's a KODI "issue", but changing the language in an application to get the image seems like an odd "solution" to be given.

Question, do you know if I leave the language in TMDB as "No Language" instead of selecting "English", does that make it a catch-all entry that is returned if no language is specified? It seems odd to need a copy of the Show, Season and Episode images for each language, so I'm just trying to find the most efficient way to update shows.

An image without text should be set as "No language", not as "English".

You need to select the images language before the download.

If the series is already in the library, you should first remove it.

Goto : Settings -> Medias -> Videos... -> (select the appropriate series) then right-click "Changer le mode d'analyse" -> Paramètres and select to use a different language for the images.

It should normally look in the no language" part if nothing is found in the language specified for images.

Thanks for the info, it's much appreciated.
