The Movie Database 支持

Hi all, I use Infuse Pro on an Apple TV and it has successfully identified and displays beautifully 32 other TV shows and over 700 movies I have, however, it will not find the correct details for the BBC's 2019 version of A Christmas Carol with Guy Pearce. I understand that Infuse (Fire Core) uses TMDB as it's source to obtain metadata on the Apple TV to show movies and TV shows.

I have tried every combo I can think of to get it to work (but obviously not the correct one yet).

I have named the folder the episodes are in many different ways - A Christmas Carol, A Christmas Carol (2019), FX's A Christmas Carol, FX's A Christmas Carol (2019), BBC A Christmas Carol and BBC A Christmas Carol (2019) I have them named the episodes inside A Christmas Carol S01E01, A Christmas Carol 2019 S01E01, A Christmas Carol (2019) S01E01, A Christmas Carol E01 and so on

I think you get the picture. I have tried other combo's, but don't want to bore the pants off anyone.

In the immortal words of Princess Leia "Help us Obi Wan, you are our only hope"

Can someone please shed some light on this as the few hairs I have left are rapidly disappearing?

Thanks in advance

This is not a TV show, but a movie which should be named "FX's A Christmas Carol (2019).xxx"

Hi superboy97, thanks for the reply, however, it was a 3 part TV show made by the BBC. It might be classed as a TV movie, but it is not a movie. Thanks anyway.

We always follow the original release. This original release took place as a single movie on FX. It was only split in 3 parts after by the BBC.

I don’t know where you get your info from. The BBC made the 3 part show, which was then made into a movie for FX.

A Christmas Carol starring Guy Pearce was originally a three-part BBC miniseries that was later shown as a single film on FX: BBC The BBC adaptation of A Christmas Carol was filmed at Rainham Hall in East London and featured Guy Pearce and Andy Serkis. FX The FX version of A Christmas Carol was a dark, adult take on the classic story. It was filmed at Rainham Hall and Lord Leycester Hospital in Warwick. The film aired in the US on FX on December 19, 2019.

It is a coproduction between FX Productions + Scott Free Productions for the United States and the BBC + Hardy Son & Baker for the United Kingdom.

It was first released as a movie on FX on December 19, 2019.

It was then broadcasted by the BBC in 3 parts between December 22 and December 24, 2019. (As you can see on this BBC page, FX productions is also listed by the BBC as a production company (screenshot))

Consequently, the first release is the US release as a movie.

Thank you for that and on that basis, why have you not added it as a TV mini series for us Brits? It would take you all of 10 minutes. Cheers

We follow the original broadcast.
