The Movie Database Support

Hello, I am seeking assistance with displaying my Plex movie page using TMDB data. I would appreciate any guidance or resources you could provide to help me set this up correctly.

Hi @mohamed_hesham,

Can you elaborate a bit as to what you mean by "displaying my Plex movie page"? What are you hoping to do exactly?

I have a react website and I need to when I click on an anchor tag just forward me to that movie in Plex movie page Is it possible?

Confirming what you're asking about, it's that you want to have access to a deep link from our API to a third party like Plex? If so, no, that is not possible.

As our documentation states, we do not provide deep links. We only provide a link to our own "watch now" pages. If you want direct deep links, you will have to partner with a provider like JustWatch on your own.

I mean like this one in this link<a href="https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/provider/tv.plex.provider.discover/details?key=%2Flibrary%2Fmetadata%2F622abc6a491335d694adaf63">The Penguin</a>

Right, I don’t see how that is possible with any data you can get from TMDB.

Oky i think all i can to do is make anchor tag forward to plex search page with movie or show name

Yup, if Plex has a form you can post to, then you should be able to pass in a title and have the search execute for you on Plex’s side.

what do you think about that code const movieTitle = movie.title; // Get movie title from TMDB data const plexUrl = 'https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/search?query=${encodeURIComponent(movieTitle)};

<a href={plexUrl} target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Watch on Plex </a> i tried and worked for me

Sure, that looks reasonable.
