Hi everyone,
I am finding very different (better/more relevant) results when I search for "Star Wars" on the TMDB homepage (https://www.themoviedb.org/) versus performing my own TMDB API call like this:
I've been trying to figure out how the homepage movie search results can be so much more relevant, and experimenting a bit with basic, discover and multi-search, but so far, I have not been able to duplicate that magic on the website :-)
Any ideas and/or guidance to help me bridge this gap will be very much appreciated (or even better, I would love to see the exact TMDB API call that's being made from the homepage behind the scenes).
Thanks in advance! Regards, Larke

I am surprised this question hasn't generated any response yet (it's been a few days) Did I post this question in the wrong place and/or ask something I shouldn't have? Please advise. Thanks. Larke

Hi @larke,
The website and API do not use the same search so it is expected to be different. There are currently no plans to replicate the website search on the API at this time.
Having said that, I do think exact matching could work better on the API so I've created a new ticket for us to look at that here.
