The Movie Database Support

Hey, there is a problem with the Kurdish language that is added here, because the Kurdish language has multiple branches with different dialects and alphabets.
The two main one are "Central Kurdish (Sorani)" and "Kurmanji (Badini)".
I think that they need to be devided to their own languages because the dialects and alphabets are completely different.
They are devided on Wikipedia too because the same problem.
Whenever I try to add Central Kurdish titles, the movie overview is flagged as Persian and it says to use Google Translate, which translates it into Kurmanji, which is not what I want.
They have their own sections on Google Translate too.

I think it won't be possible.
In ISO 639-1 there is only one code for this language.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-1_codes

Kurdish ku kur kur kur + 3 macrolanguage

language-COUNTRY

I believe that the language/Country you want or suggest is not part of the ISO 639-1/ISO 3166-1 list.
TMDb uses these two standards for languages and countries.
Therefore, it is still not possible to fulfill your request.
See below how TMDb manages languages and countries.

TMDb uses ISO standards to identify Languages and Countries.
ISO 639-1 alpha 2 for Languages. Standard with 184 Languages.
This standard assigns 2 lowercase letters for each language.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-1_codes
ISO 3166-1 alpha 2 for Countries. Standard with 239 Countries
This standard assigns 2 capital letters for each country.

It has a code here

This one you posted the link is from ISO 639-3.
With 3 characters.
We use ISO 639-1.
With 2 characters.

Oh, well, can't you add support for both Sorani (ckb) and Kurmanji (ku) so that plot synopsis and other stuff can be added in both dialects? Now I cannot add a plot synopsis in Sorani.

At the moment I don't think it's possible.
It would be a bit of a complex change to switch from ISO 639-1 to ISO-639-3.
And I don't see any plans for that in the To-Do list in Trello.

Aside from changing to ISO-639-3, can't it be made so Kurdish language (ku) can accept both Sorani and Kurmanji under the same umbrella?

Only Administrator Travis Bell can respond.
I believe that the filtering of the posted text is done using Google Translate tools.
I don't know if it's possible to bypass the tool.
I do not think so.
