So I noticed that the entry for Lackadaisy (2023) was removed from here some time ago. Of course, it used to have an entry on Letterboxd complete with reviews and stuff, and people were disappointed when it disappeared as a result of being purged from TMDB.
Now of course I understand that one reason for its removal from this site is because it's essentially a potential pilot for an animated TV series. But this website lists TV shows anyway so I don't see how that's a sufficient reason for exclusion. Even Marvel shows like Loki and WandaVision have their own TMDB/Letterboxd pages, as well as TV holiday specials made for various animated shows. Another reason I understand is because it's an internet short rather than a "film", but I feel the production value and length is more than enough to elevate it above some amateur production. As such, Wikipedia lists it as a short film, as does IMDb, so I don't see why TMDB has to be an exception.
I respect that the mods have rules to uphold here, but I honestly believe in this case they're making a bit of a bad call. This is a fantastically-produced piece of work that has gained a lot of traction. I feel it deserves to be discussed by the Letterboxd community.
