Hi fellows,
I am new to TMDB and created an API Key. I wanted to test it and went to " https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/search/search-movies ".
Now there I posted my key and a string ( both required) and then hit the send button. Unfortunately it does work.
Do you know why?
Thanks!
Robert

Hi @Contibuster,
The “try it out” feature in the docs was disabled by Stoplight. So that will not work, unfortunately.
Feel free to use a direct request (like the one in your key approval post) in your browser or app. It will work properly.
Cheers.

Just to confirm: Is the "try it out" feature still disabled (by Stoplight) ?
I getting the 503 both in Chrome and Edge (win 10), while direct request does work (although the resulting text is a hot mess).

Hi @dlflannery, yes, it’s still disabled.

I mentioned in my previous post that the json response for a direct browser request was a "hot mess". Of course this was because the JSON wasn't formatted (pretty printed). I found there is an easily installed extension for the Edge browser called "JSON formatter for edge". I found this by browsing for "json viewer extension edge" then selecting the "Microsoft Edge add-ons" response. The resulting page had an install button and it quickly installed the extension. No further action was needed. When I do a direct request the response page is now JSON pretty-printed.
I'm sure there are other similar extensions/tools for both Edge, Chrome and probably other browsers.
Is there still hope that the try it feature will be re-enabled?

Probably not with Stoplight (our current docs provider.) There are plans to migrate to a new system in 2023.
