There is one series on imdb and one series added to TMDB. But there are also 14 TV specials and these are the main events of each year. Two have been added here as seperate series(here and there), I don't think this is correct. All 14 specials should be added to a special season 0 of the actual series entry. Is this correct? Or should they be added as 'final' episode of each season?

Hi David, I'm a little lost. You're saying that each season has multiple episodes and ends with the all star tribute? Where can I see those episodes? It would help to see what the broadcasting schedule for one year looks like.

Why I am thinking these specials aired at the end of the year: Last year for example: https://edition.cnn.com/videos/tv/2020/12/11/2020-heroes-inspiration-coronavirus-social-justice-cnnheroes.cnn This article was published on 12/11/2020 and the vid reffers to the "next sunday", so it's kind of the end of the year. This poster and the overview says the same. here, and on every imdb release date we get the same information.
Yes I think so. A year, a season. Every episode is about a special person. Then, at the end of each year they choose the Top 10 most special persons and let people vote for the number 1(source, they say it in the first 80 seconds). Google says you can watch it on https://www.hbomax.com/geo-availability but it's not available in my region so... Here we see a clip from june this year: https://edition.cnn.com/2021/06/24/health/philadelphia-black-doctors-covid-19-vaccination-cnnheroes/index.html
After all I am not sure how many episodes exist but I think they weekly or mothly pick a special person and give them some credit for their doing. When I search for it on youtube it seems every episode has just a few minutes. Can't find a broadcasting schedule though.
So there are two ways to deal with these all star tributes. 1st) list every episode in a special season, 2nd) list them as a final episode in every season. The last one may be difficult because we don't know how many episodes exist in every year (this year probably 16 - till now).

Ya, I don't know if the Hero profiles should count as episodes. The series could probably just be treated like any yearly award show. The short documentaries may only be available on various websites and shown on-air to encourage viewers to nominate inspiring people, vote in the online poll and tune in to watch the CNN Hero of the Year Award ceremony.

Internet Archive is currently offline, but the first one was allegedly in 2007. So the series would look like this:
