The Movie Database Support

Hi,

I have not given API permission to send me adult contents but when I integrated this API to my project and start searching for movies by typing in searchbar, it started showing adult content.

Kindly do the needful as I am using this API for my project.

Thanks and Regards Ashutosh Sharma

Hi @Ashutosh1234567,

What is an example:

  1. API query
  2. media

That you are seeing, that is returning the data you’re mentioning, but shouldn't be?

I am talking about API query. Like i am fetching movies and their respective images using JavaScript fetch query.
I have just deployed a Searchbar functionality in my project in which if you start typing letters in it, it will filter the data according to what's in the SearchBar and will only show me movies related to the letters or words typed in the SearchBar.
I have typed 'o' on the SearchBar and I found that the fifth movie was an adult content.

And also I wanted to ask you a question Travis.
I am using this API for the ReactJS project movie website.
And I am planning to have this project in my portfolio or resume for job search.
Do i have to take permission from TMDB to use the project for job search, as the project is using TMDB API?

I assume you are using the Discover API Request.
Am I right ?

  1. Does your Request have the parameter &include_adult=false ?
  2. On your profile, https://www.themoviedb.org/settings/account, the option Include Adult Items in Search? is set to No ?

I have the same problem!

  1. The request does have the parameter &include_adult=false set correctly - https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?api_key=${API_KEY}&query=${title}&language=en-US&page=1&include_adult=false
  2. On my profile the option Include Adult Items in Search? is set to No.

I would also appreciate some help with this because I don't want adult content to appear on my site.

What Travis Bell asked above also applies to you.
1 Post here an example of a Request that received incorrect data.
With the search terms you used. The &query=.
Just change your API Key to THE_KEY or something similar.
2 Post here the link to a film that you received in the response and that you consider to be wrong because it is an adult.

Query: https://api.themoviedb.org/3/search/movie?api_key=THE_KEY &query=s&language=en-US&page=1&include_adult=false

Response:

  • 3-D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy
  • Emmanuelle: Queen of Sados
  • Sex and Zen II

I searched these movies in themoviedb.org and they were not marked as adult. I tried to edit the page to set the Adult Content to Yes but it was locked with this information:

Generally speaking, this flag is to only be used for pornography. Please see the contribution bible for more information.

So I found the movie Sex and Zen II (and others) to make sure it was adult content and it definitely was!

I understood.
So we don't have an API response problem.
Films are not marked as Adult.

This theme in our Bible:

As I didn't watch or know these films, please write a report on each of them.
Justify your request with sources on the internet.
A moderator who knows the films or has more knowledge on this subject will give a better answer.

Please MAKE A REPORT

Why use Report
We need your request to be stored, connected, in the item in question. (Movie, TV Show, Profile, etc...).
With what was asked, who asked for it and the reasons.
For this to happen, it is necessary to make a Report.

How to make Report
The best way to communicate a problem is:
While on the Movie / TV Show / Person page that has the problem, In the top menu click on Overview and Report
Select one of the 6 options: Duplicate, Bad Image, Incorrect Content, DMCA Takedown Request etc...
In Extra Details enter the Reason and/or any other details such as the data or the URL of the image, duplicate Movie or TV Show etc...
In this way Report automatically stays connected to the page and facilitates the operation of the Moderators.

Only Moderators can Delete Movies, Series (TV Show), Seasons, Episodes, Network, Company, Keyword, Collection, People and Images.

TIP: If you want to force the line break, click Space 2 times and then click Enter. Just Space > Space > Enter.
