TV Seasons Get Details sometimes does not return translation

Hi, I'm the developer of SeriesGuide and tmdb-java!
On occasion and for random shows and for one or more seasons of that show data returned by TMDb is not in the available translation. The issue typically disappears when the request is tried again later (e.g. within a few hours).
APIs used are https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/tv-seasons/get-tv-season-details and https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/tv/get-tv-details. So far only observed with language code de. User agent is okhttp/4.9.1.
For example GET https://api.themoviedb.org/3/tv/4087/season/8?language=de&api_key=API_KEY
I sadly can't share any response headers as I'm not able to reproduce the issue due to it appearing so rarely. Let me know if there is any additional info that I can share!

But both return different content – sometimes (see my previous example).

Yes, it looks like the behavior has changed.
In my memory, when using a wrong language-COUNTRY code with a wrong COUNTRY-code,
the system only considered the language code.
Testing with my language seems to have changed the behavior.
pt-BR - I receive pt-BR
pt-br - I receive pt-BR - In the past it would receive default pt.
pt-PT - I receive pt-PT
pt-pt - I receive pt-PT - In the past it would receive default pt.
pt-XG - I receive en - In the past it would receive default pt.
pt-xg - I receive en - In the past it would receive default pt.
It is accepting the COUNTRY code in lower case.
But the wrong COUNTRY code returns in the default language, English.

Here we have another problem. The country code "de" returns usually german data. But SOMETIMES it return english data for some seasons, the next day (more or less), it returns german data again. And the problem appears for another series.
It seems like a wrong caching behaviour.
But I could not reproduce it for language code "de-de" or "de-DE".

I received this Overview:

I got: "name":"Bitchcraft","overview":"A young girl discovers she possesses a strange genetic affliction tracing back to the dark days of Salem; Fiona Goode returns to town."
But now I get the same as you. It's always a temporary problem.
Now here is the problem (Chicago P.D., season 5 and 6):
and here (Westworld, season 1 and 2):
and here (The Walking Dead, season 1 and 2):
And I checked just ~30 series, so 10% are affected.
(Unfortunately, a single new line does not work in this forum.)

Hey @KeksBln, in about 6 hours (once all of the currently cached items have expired), can you keep an eye on this and let me know if you see it happen again? I was able to find one issue with regards to
append_to_response, and from the looks of things, it may have been poisoning the cache with incorrectly tagged language requests.Resposta de WhatTheBok

The website uses a different system, that issue is not related to the API. I can/will take a look at that separately.

@travisbell FYI, while switching to use the primary language tags (so "en-US") I noticed that https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/configuration/get-primary-translations returns "cn-CN". However, it appears this is an unassigned code?
