It would great to have an option for adding specials to the "tv show watch order".
TvDB currently supports this by allowing a special to have:
It would be great to have this or a similar feature in TMDB.

I second that request. It would be really great to have that feature on tmdb.

You have a function called "episode groups" to create special episode orders.

Can episode groups also be used when having Anime organised in the normal Aired order on things like Plex and Jellyfin? I haven't seen a way to use it like that yet, but I could have overlooked it.

I know that they can be used on Kodi.
With Plex and Jellyfin, I don't know. You will have to ask their support.

Is it possible that the API returns a sort of link to the air order position or the order way around? So it will be possible to use the episode orders while having it organised in air date order in the library
Thanks

"Absolute order" means nothing. The episodes can, for example, be broadcasted in one order in a country and in a completely different order in another country.

I don't think episode groups are a way to replace OP's suggestion in that case. It would be handy to have some way of knowing when to watch certain episodes that are in the season 0 directory.

Would definitely be nice to have this feature parity, especially considering how far off the rails TheTVDB has gone (since this thread was originally opened). For now I can do a couple of manual edits when adding stuff to Jellyfin (since I only use TMDB as a source for metadata), but I don't think that's sustainable long-term for myself.
