It also got a limited event release for two weeks in selected theaters in Japan that way (which is all that matters, because it's a JP production, so any other country is basically a re-airing). However, it wasn't hugely different from the split-in-three-episodes streaming version.

If anything, it could be added in the specials season.
However, since the streaming version was released on the same day [in Japan] as the limited theatrical release, I'd say the streaming version is leading. Since it's more accessible (not talking about the world here, but just Japan). https://burn-the-witch-anime.com/news/54/

So, basically, both versions were released at the same time in Japan. And you believe the best solution would be to remove the movie entry and simply use the theatrical flag? It sounds good to me, but I'll wait a bit to see if anyone objects.
