I'd argue it should have a separate entry. Changes the ending of the movie, unlike other films with different cuts that just add/subtract middle parts. Not to mention it's a different title, instead of "Godfather Part III: Director's Cut" it's an entirely different title

Hi, until we get an official decision from the top that this alternate cut should be allowed as a new entry, it will be deleted since alternative versions are not supported at this time.

This was an admin decision, as was Once Upon a Deadpool. Very rare but it happens once every 3-4 years or so.

There are hundreds of alternative versions of movies released on Blu-Ray, DVD or streaming so that example is not a valid reason for adding a duplicate entry.

Original title on IMDB is of course still The Godfather: Part III. Try setting your IMDb account to only display original titles and you will notice that.

Any update about this? I have the original movie in my collection and I want to add also the new one.

For me this is not a clasical director's cut as it has different title and changes the begining and the end of the movie.

Until there is support for multiple versions of a film, TMDb will always prioritize the original release. In accordance with the guidelines, "Alternative versions, including 3D/IMAX, director's cut, extended versions, dubbed versions, remastered versions, commentary (e.g. RiffTrax), fan events and special screenings" are not supported. You can keep track of the Trello ticket for alternate versions here.

As for your own personal collection, I would look into NFO files for your particular service.
