The Movie Database Support

So a VR short I've added got deleted due to being forbidden content. Is this really a thing? "Virtual reality projects" seems like a rather specific term to me. Shouldn't narrative/non-interactive content be allowed (things with a runtime...)?
I know I've added some before myself and saw others in the DB but this is the first I got a delete notification hushed . (Didn't see a discussion thread in search.)

Could you tell us what the short was?

Sure

But according to the bible this wouldn't matter anyways. No VR allowed at all?

I have the same question, is a VR project considered a movie? Specifically this one: https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/575360-diorama-no-4-the-fernweh-opera

I think you could say it's a type of movie, yes, but not allowed per the current rules. The entry is now deleted. The rules should be pretty clear.

Yeah, I thought so. Thanks for the fast reply.

tbh I started this thread to ask why the decision was made to exclude VR in the bible... so far it's just because wink ?

I think the original reason was that it required special equipment, but perhaps also that it's often close to a video game in experience. And that each movie viewing would be different (even if runtime is fixed, being able to move around freely in a 360 environment gets that outcome). It's similar to some interactive games and a close relative to theme park rides.

(Edit: A few months back I deleted an art installation for not being a movie. The viewer at the museum was sitting in a rowing machine (if I remember correctly) and certain actions triggered different vignettes to appear on three different screens. This would be an extreme example of an interactive experience, but nevertheless something that required special equipment and could not be reproduced as one movie.)
