The Movie Database Support

Hey all, sorry if this isn't the right place.

I've noticed that TMDB Agent pulls (what I would assume is) incorrect information for "studio" within Plex - it seems to be pulling info from Production Company and not TV Network. This could just be me confusing the two, but when I click on the "Studio" in Plex, I would want to see other HBO shows and not what is there currently. For example:

When I think of Westworld, I think of HBO and not Warner Bros Television.

When I think of Game of Thrones, I think of HBO and not Generator Entertainment.

When I think of The Boys, I think of Amazon and not Original Film.

If I'm in the wrong here, my bad! This has just always bugged me and was looking to see if I was crazy.

As far as I know, "studio" always refer to the production studios. So the examples listed above are correct. I'm not at all familiar with Plex, but they have control over which items they pull and display.

@ctrlaltd1337 pretty sure this is a plex bug as they only support 1 studio when downloading metadata. Take a look at this thread ...

https://forums.plex.tv/t/allow-for-multiple-studios-separated-by-commas/406801

So coming back to this, who makes TheMovieDB agent? Is it Plex or is TheMovieDB? I want to know who I can talk with try to try "fix" this. TVDB doesn't list production studios, which is why the network is listed as the studio on Plex.

Agent is owned by plex. See my forum link above.

HBO is considered a TV network (distributor). And the HBO-owned studio does not produce all of the HBO network's content. HBO Films (formerly called HBO Premiere Films and HBO Pictures) is an American production and distribution company, a division of the cable television network HBO that produces feature films and miniseries. But the HBO network also distributes content produced by other studios, not only the one it owns.
