There is a "feature cut" of the Stargate Origins series called "Stargate Origins: Catherine". https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8657468/
IMHO this should be considered a movie. But apparently it existed on TDMB in the past and got removed/merged. https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/531142-stargate-origins-catherine
At the moment it is neither a special nor a movie on TMDB.

Hi, we currently only support one version of a movie (or TV show or TV-show season) and that version is always going to be the original. In this case, even with support for alternative versions coming in the future, I'm not sure it would be possible to support a duplicate entry. Thanks.

"Stargate Origins" is a web series , released as a web series in the format of a TV series: https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/72925-stargate-origins?language=en
"Stargate Origins: Catherine (2018)" is a movie, released as a movie in the format of a movie with small alterations (redone visual FX): https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8657468/
In fact, the original pay-walled streaming format of the 10-part "Stargate Origins" has now been completely replaced in all digital containers by the post-produced movie "Stargate Origins: Catherine (2018)". In other words, the movie format is the only format available. You can NO LONGER watch the 10-episode version, even if you wanted to.
Besides, as a subscription-only flash-in-the-pan, "Stargate Origins" was NEVER an actual TV series (aired) in the first place.
So, there's no reason why both entries should not exist on TMDB: "Stargate Origins" in TV for historical record, and "Stargate Origins: Catherine (2018)" in Movies to provide ongoing information for every single consumer of this product heading into the future (which actually started over 2 years ago).

Hi, we are just following the rules. There are many more notable similar ones (Stephen King's It maybe the the most popular). This is the first time I've seen someone claiming it's not a TV show (meaning you want us to remove the original entry as well). Do you have any information supporting that? I'll leave this open for one of our TV moderators to review your additional information. Thanks.

Hello, Stargate Origins Catherine was released as a MOVIE after the series ended. It is illusional to not make a difference between a series and a movie as they are two different types of videos. In Germany Catherine it was released as a movie, too. (https://www.amazon.de/Stargate-Origins-Catherine-Ellie-Gall/dp/B07DS4VV9B/)
If you want to prevent duplicates please remove the series and add the movie instead. There is a reason you are called "The MOVIE Database" and not "The Series Database"
Thank you, have a nice day.

To prevent the duplicates, we always list only the original version. In this specific case, the original version was the series.
We are called "The Movie Database" only because we have started by listing movies. This is not a reason to favor movies against series.

Requesting: The TV Show version be removed from TVDB/TMDB, and only the Movie version be available.
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7161862/= 10 (Eight to Fourteen Min) "episodes" that were available Feb, 2018. However, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8657468/ =1h 44m Movie that actually was released as a Movie in June, 2018\April, 2021\October, 2022\December, 2023, with an extra scene (even if it was less than a min long) at the end.
And according to your rules (or New Content "Bible"), it should only by on as a Movie and not a TV show on TMDB as it was originally only available as a Web Series (Internet only) not on TV (never aired) in Feb, 2018. However, it was released as a Movie June, 2018\April, 2021\October, 2022\December, 2023 on TV (over Air) in Different countries. But was never over the air as a TV show, only Movie. - https://www.gateworld.net/news/2023/10/stargate-origins-now-free-watch-freevee/
Source= https://www.gateworld.net/news/2023/10/stargate-origins-now-free-watch-freevee/ :
"Stargate Origins was originally released as a 10-part, short-form Web series, exclusive to MGM’s Stargate Command streaming platform. The feature cut — titled Stargate Origins: Catherine — followed that summer...The project never received a physical release and Stargate Command shut down in 2019, leaving Origins exclusively for sale on digital storefronts in its feature-length cut...With the newly renamed “Amazon MGM Studios” now developing a brand new project for the franchise, it seems that Origins won’t ever be a series..."

Freevee is an official video provider, like Amazon Prime and Netflix. The series provided there have officially aired and are considered as TV shows.
There are no reasons to remove the series and replace it by the movie.

When and where was the Webseries "officially aired" on an "official video provider"?
From what I understand the Webseries was exclusive to MGM's Stargate Command subscription service. Is this considered and "official video provider" even though it was a Stargate exclusive (web only) platform which was only around for about 2 years? If so, what is the definition of an "official video provider"? Is any website that has embedded video content considered an "official video provider"?
As the previous reply said, the movie version is imho the only version that was released on an official video provider or TV network.

Yes, as it was run by MGM which is the official producing company of the franchise.
No. For example, "YouTube" is only considered as an official video provider for content directly produced by YouTube, aka "YouTube Originals" or "YouTube Red". It is not considered this way for video that you self-release there.

You are absolutely correct, "Freevee is an official video provider, like Amazon Prime and Netflix." (especially since Freevee is Amazon Freevee) - However, what you missed was that the link I provided clearly states: " leaving Origins exclusively for sale on digital storefronts in its feature-length cut" - Which means that you literally cannot watch the "Web Series" anywhere ever again, only the Movie ( feature-length cut), which is free on Amazon Freevee. (if you are an Amazon Prime member)

That doesn't change the way it was originally released.
By the way, I made a mistake in my above message. I didn't want to talk about Freevee, but about the MGM streaming platform, that was at the time an official provider.

This is just so stupid, TMDB ist not a reliable source if things like that aren't listed as movie. Obviously it IS a movie and the reason it wasn't in the beginning is just ridiculous.

Yes, such a stupid thing, that TMDB can't get it right. I guess we need to wait until TMDB hires some new moderators who get this fixed. So sad for this platform.

For information, the series version is available on Amazon Prime (at least in France), via the MGM channel: https://www.primevideo.com/detail/0PWHC0C6JRQFBMTM3FZJBQL9K4 (https://i.imgur.com/zkrh6rW.jpeg)
