upcoming movies maximum date

in the upcoming movies api docs it states :

"Get a list of upcoming movies in theaters. This is a release type query that looks for all movies that have a release type of 2 or 3 within the specified date range."

But there is no query parameter to set the min/max dates of the results. The results have currently returned all movies with max date set to 2020-02-03 for the past 2 weeks but nothing further. I cannot get upcoming movies beyond this date anymore. Is there a parameter missing from the docs? This wasn't a problem until this month.

json always returns:

    "maximum": "2020-02-03",
    "minimum": "2020-01-17"
},

Hi @lmerza,

If you'd like to build your own query, you will need to use /discover. Something like this, for example (tweak the dates as you wish):

https://api.themoviedb.org/3/discover/movie?api_key=###&region=US&release_date.gte=2020-01-17&release_date.lte=2020-02-03&with_release_type=3|2

Make sure to read through the docs for discover as there is over 25 different filters and sort options.

where in the docs are release_date.gte and release_date.lte for /movie/upcoming? Are you saying that endpoint isn't what I should use anymore? I just tried changing release_date.lte to 2020-03-03 and still only get a max of 2020-02-03

/movie/upcoming does not support customizing the release date query. I showed you how to do it with discover (which is what upcoming is using behind the scenes.)
