The Movie Database Support

I am having trouble opening the thread below. I have tried a bunch of different ways. I keep getting the message below. It's not happening anywhere else on the site.

"This page isn’t working

www.themoviedb.org redirected you too many times.

ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS"

When I click on the link above, it opens to the usual everyday TMDb page https://www.themoviedb.org/ that opens if you click on the green rectangle, that says "THE MOVIE DB" inside it, that's in the upper-left corner of the TMDb screen.

Is what opens when you click on that green "THE MOVIE DB" rectangle what you see when you click on whatever specific it is that you were trying to open?

If you mention which category (Movie, TV, or Person) the thread is in that you're trying to access, and what its title is, I'll check to see if it opens for me.

That's not the link to the page I'm trying to open. That link is just part of the error message. TMDb always 'highlights' a link when it's included in a post. I can't include the link to the 'bad page' because I keep getting the error message. I included the name of the thread above but it was 'cut off'? The title of the thread is "Bond 25 title revealed - No Time To Die" started by fan_of_films on the 'No Time To Die' page. I finally was able to capture the link before it went to the error message.

I just now checked for it and was able to readily open that thread. See if the following link to it https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/370172-no-time-to-die/discuss/5d5c8ca5c4904800127cb5d0 (which is the link I just now saved upon opening that thread) happens to work for you. Hopefully it will.

Nope, still getting the same message. It's weird because it isn't happening anywhere else on the site.

Odd, as I didn't have any problem, whatsoever, entering that thread.

Do you by any chance have an alternate operating system (for example Windows Explorer, Google, a particular internet service provider, etc.) that you can try copying and pasting my link (to that thread) into and seeing if it works that way? If so, and if it works, that might suggest an issue with your operating system.

I went to the page itself & had no problem with any of the others threads except that one. I can't explain it.

I just added a 2nd paragraph to my comment immediately above, if you haven't noticed it yet. It might be worth a try checking via another operating system, if you are able.

Now and then if I have whatever type inexplicable computer issue, I'll try a different operating system (for example Windows Explorer, etc., whereas I normally access TMDb via Google Chrome) and every so often whatever will work that way.

Hi, a strong possibility is that this could be related to the URL reset I made earlier today (370172-bond-25 became 370172-no-time-to-die). With a new title you also want the URL to look nice. snail It usually fixes itself after a while (if this is the issue, which may or may not be true).

Great to know, lineker. Do you think possibly if brat were to power down her computer, then turn it back on, it could make any difference? (That's usually something I try when all else seems to be failing - and often it magically resolves an issue. grin)

I just don't understand why it's JUST that particular thread. Everywhere else is fine. It doesn't make any sense!

lineker said it "could be related to the URL reset I [lineker] made earlier today (370172-bond-25 became 370172-no-time-to-die)". That was specific to that particular film that the discussion thread is regarding. So possibly by tomorrow all will be fine for you, after that adjustment has had time to "set".

Meanwhile, perhaps if you power down your computer, then power back up, that may resolve the issue. I've many times found turning off the computer for a few minutes to "do the trick" and get something back to performing right.

I'm not very computer savvy, but as far as remember it's a cache issue that only affects the pages you accessed right before the URL change. So https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/370172-no-time-to-die/edit?active_nav_item=alternative_titles might be fine, but https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/370172-no-time-to-die/edit?active_nav_item=cast won't work. (At least, that how I always experienced it. clown )

It still doesn't make sense as to why it is affecting me & not you or lineker. Although it might be affecting others too? I really don't like shutting down my computer for something like this though.

Have you tried simply clearing your browser's cache? That should fix it.
