Hello - I'm an older documentary filmmaker involved in only one project about the war in North Africa. 10 years ago I tried to create an IMDB site which has 'open editing'. Very few administrators would correct listing of credits, names ,crew etc. Your production (as copyright owner) and was open to whomwever wanted to add their names to the list of credits. Does 'themoviedb' operate the same way?

Hi, Carpenter. Yes: On TMDb, any user can add or change credits. However if you adjust your documentary's indicated details to reflect what you know to be accurate, but then someone comes along and deletes accurate credits, or adds incorrect ones, or renders anything else wrong, you can submit a content report (simply click on the Report button for the documentary in question, then type in an explanation), then a moderator will review the issue and determine if there was abuse to the listing.

"then a moderator will review the issue" Thanx for the reply - please bear with me - only because of unique circumstances (I was pretty much a one man band) I was never a big fan of that set up. As I indicated I never got the feeling the Admins on IMDB really gave a damn. As the sole creator of this project I was always questioned regarding ownership. But also understand (at 70 years old) I** firmly** believe in proper, accurate credits. I got the impression (as Hollywood goes), there's always someone who may have become disgruntled over the years because of poor performance, ill feelings and other such typical nonsense so prevalent in this field. I guess the question is, are the Admins connected with "The Moive DB" neccesarily more conscientious than the arrogance on IMDB? (just my opinion). Thank You

I think you'll be pleased and satisfied here. Between Travis, who created and runs the site, and the various moderators, it's a very good operation.
By the way, for your reference, here's the link to the TMDb "Contribution Bible", so you'll be aware of the guidelines, what's permitted, what's not, etc.: https://www.themoviedb.org/bible

Thanks for the information. My situation: I'll be the only person making all the Credit Submissions since none of the good folks I worked with have seen the production and have relocated (lost touch) just getting back in touch. BTW do you folks have many older obscure documentaries listed here? Here's The Web Page: http://www.ww2survivorstories.com/previews.html < You can see this isn't fictional subject matter. Don't know if it fits into your genre? Than You :)
