Looking at the Episode order for Firefy Season1 they are completely in a random order. Not even in an aired order but a completely nonsensical one.
They should be in the following order:
's01e01 - Serentiy'
's01e02 - The Train Job.mkv'
's01e03 - Bushwacked.mkv'
's01e04 - Shindig.mkv'
's01e05 - Safe.mkv'
's01e06 - Our Mrs Reynolds.mkv'
's01e07 - Jaynestown.mkv'
's01e08 - Out of Gas.mkv'
's01e09 - Ariel.mkv'
's01e10 - War Stories.mkv'
's01e11 - Trash.mkv'
's01e12 - The Message.mkv'
's01e13 - Heart of Gold.mkv'
's01e14 - Objects in Space.mkv'
Can we correct this please as it mucks up any metadata scraping done by media players

The current list of season 1 is in the first aired order. You can view the intended order via the episode group called "Intended Order".

Maybe this content report explains the issue? I also notice there are two episode groups added. I'll leave any additional explanations to our TV experts.

Did they really show episode 2 before episode 1 because Serenity was the pilot which introduces all the main characters?
Either way it seems IMDB has picked up the wrong order too and it is making a mess for scrapers that assume the default order is the correct one. Please consider making the intended order the default order.

Yes, this show has a long and storied history regarding how badly Fox screwed up the original airing.
However, as per our Contribution Bible, we use the original air dates for all of default season listings.
This is exactly why we introduced episode groups though. I'm pretty sure Kodi is getting episode group support and if you're using another app, then I suggest making a request with them to get support for them added.
Thanks!

Hmm fairy nuff. FTR I am using Emby so I will need to contact them and ask their scrapers to see if they can choose the listing. As it is now though I have all the episodes number correctly but of course they are all jumbled up with metadata and I cannot just rename the metadata because the underlying files won't change. Ironically enough because it is only 14 episodes it is not so bad having to select them properly in the right order.. but if was something like Supernatural that would be a royal pain in the ass.
So you by any chance have a template link to the intended show order I can maybe hack a script together with to manually update things? From the link about the episode groups id's seem pretty randomly generated which will make it difficult to correctly scrape for them I guess.
