How do I know if I need a commercial key

I'd like to use some of the posters available on tmdb on a web application and in turn may generate revenue from affiliate sales. I emailed Travis for clarification but havent heard back. Can anyone else provide insight? Thanks!

Hi @pshoemaker39,
If you're building a mobile app and just have ads, you do not need a commercial account. A developer account is fine. Just be sure to attribute TMDb as the source of whatever data you use.

Hello, I have a similar question. I have a free app that is powered by ads. Additionally we do offer a "customized app" service for some costumers (B2B)
Can I still use the standard developer account?

Yup, developer key is fine.
