The Movie Database Support

There is an entry here on TMDB for a series called Green Porno. I believe the series has three seasons, not one- and so I started looking into what the correct information is supposed to be. I ran into a lot of confusion and so decided to keep it all tidy in a table. I had taken note of the episode listings for Green Porno on TVDb, TMDb, Tv.com, the official/original network's website and while TVDb and TMDb do list the episodes so that it appears all season one episodes listed on the other websites came before all season two (and all season three episodes after season two episodes), each and every one seem to disagree with the order within each individual season (not to mention slight variations in episode titles- and a missing episode three for season one on the official network's website).

Add to that, there's even an archived article that seems to list an order for the season three episodes, that's different to all other listings I've got in that table.

""Green Porno 3" introduces several new elements to the series as Isabella examines the routines of sea animals popular in human kitchens in the first three films of the series: "Bon Appetit: Shrimp," "Bon Appetit: Squid" and "Bon Appetit: Anchovy." ...In the fourth film, "Harem on the Beach: Elephant Seal," Isabella explores the curious ways of the elephant seal and journeys to Argentinean Patagonia to see the animals in action..."

I would think to just use the official network's listing... but that only takes into consideration the order & names of the episodes and not the episode air dates. That article also said that season three first premiered at the Toronto Internation Film Festival on the 11th of September (however if I did use this as the air date for all four season three episodes would I order them the way the article has described the order of the episodes or would I use the ones on the original network?)

I believe this article also suggests that the show (i.e. season 1) premiered on the 5th of May 2008 (all eight episodes simultaneously (on the same day) aired on the website?). I have yet to look into when season 2 aired. (If someone can sort out the real air dates for all episodes that would be appreciated)

Did you check the sundancechannel.com archives? It helped me confirm the season release dates and episodes titles.

That being said, I'm starting to doubt there is a definitive episode order. Every single episode list I found on their website, YouTube channel, or in their press releases is different. thinking

Toronto Internation Film Festival on the 11th of September

You can use the theatrical flags for the episodes screened at a festival, but ignore the festival date/order. Think of it as a premiere.

How did you use it to confirm release dates? I've been searching through for half an hour or so and haven't found anything. Can you just point me to what you did/where you went to confirm the release dates? (I'm currently transferring the episode information to tvdb- and will need a source to request they delete the episodes placed in season 1 that really belong in season 2 or 3)

EDIT: If you doubt there is a definitive episode order, what did you use for the order here on TMDB? (Need it to change the entry on tvdb)

Btw, I didn't really understand what you meant by

You can use the theatrical flags for the episodes screened at a festival, but ignore the festival date/order. Think of it as a premiere.

SO, feel free to make the changes yourself (because I won't).

How did you use it to confirm release dates?

Season 1 + Season 2 + press release for Season 3

If you doubt there is a definitive episode order, what did you use for the order here on TMDB?

Season 1 + Season 2 + Season 3. It's faaar from ideal. But the order kept changing so it was the best I could do. shrug_tone1

We have theatrical flags (Has this season/episode been screened theatrically?) on every season and episode. You can use them to mark individual episodes/complete season that were screened in theater or at a festival.

hmmm....isn't it a little strange that while the press kit for episode 1-8 (season 1) says the episodes are "available May 5th, 2008", that archived page you linked for season 1 lists all the episode titles, (presumably) allowed you to watch the episodes, and is archived as being from the 14th April 2008 (i.e. before the 5th of 2008)? Am I crazy? (Like, is it likely that that archived page isn't taken from that date- that way back archives often get their dates wrong or whatever?). Or?

(presumably) allowed you to watch the episodes

The website is a little confusing, but I don't think they were available before the official release date.

How come the "screened theatrically?" field has been locked to "No"? I was just about to change it to Yes because of this archived article...

The theatrical flag on a season level should only be used for regular seasons that were screened in full at a film festival (e.g. Top of the Lake).

Seeing as you decided on an episode order for Green Porno that ultimately does not match up with the way the episodes were currently listed on the sundance website, could you also look into the series "Seduce Me" - the follow up series to Green Porno? Its entry is here and the episodes currently match with the way it's listed on sundancetv.com.

EDIT: Here is the listing of the episodes in the web series from tv.com (they differ entirely from the listing on Sundancetv- though the same episodes are still in the same seasons).

I spent a few hours looking around the sundancechannel archives and didn't really come to any conclusion about the episode order, other than sundancetv.com probably does have the right episode titles in the right season (there are two seasons of Seduce Me).

I'm not sure, but I set the release date of all the season 1 episodes to the 20th of April 2010, because of this, this and this. Am I right?

I coudn't find a release date for the season 2...can you? I set the release date of all the season 2 episodes to the 23rd of Nov 2010, based on this, this and this.

~ ~ ~

Btw, should the network for Seduce Me be "Sundance TV (AKA: Sundance Channel)" or should it be "Sundancechannel.com"? That vogue.com article makes it sound like the website, sundancechannel.com is seperate from Sundance Channel "The second season of Seduce Me premieres on sundancechannel.com on November 23 and on the Sundance Channel on December 8". If yes, then should it also be added as a network for Green Porno? (the release date for the season 1 and season 3 episodes are the dates the episodes aired on sundancechannel.com).

~ ~ ~

Also, might as well take a look at the series that comes after Seduce Me, called Mammas? (I myself might look into it later).

I've just now had a look at Mammas. I set the release date of all the episodes (all 10) to the 12th of May, 2013 (mothers' day) based on this, this, this, and this.

However I'm not sure; maybe the series originally (initially) aired earlier on arte- based on this? If so, then please change the release dates, please change the Original TV Show Language to French (I think, right?), that also means SundanceTV should be removed from the list of Networks? If not, then that means Arte should be removed on the list of networks?

When it comes to the episode order- I have no idea. I would assume the episode entitled "Maternal Instinct", is probably the last episode (if not, then it's the first).

Here is the listing of the episodes in the web series from tv.com (they differ entirely from the listing on Sundancetv- though the same episodes are still in the same seasons).

The tv.com order seems to correspond to the original playlist (assuming it started with Bedbug and ended with the promo): https://web.archive.org/web/20100424002712/http://www.sundancechannel.com/greenporno/video/# It looks like the current Sundancetv is once again very different from the original order.

Yup. The episodes aired on Arte most nights at 20:45 from February 6 to February 17. But four episodes actually premiered during a Court-circuit special episode on the Berlinale / Isabelle Rossellini.

  1. 2013-02-06 20:45 Instinct maternel / Maternal Instinct
  2. 2013-02-07 20:45 Guêpe / Wasp
  3. 2013-02-08 20:45 Coucou / Cuckoo
  4. 2013-02-09 00h34 Araignée / Spider
  5. 2013-02-09 00h37 Poisson cichlidé / Cichlid Fish
  6. 2013-02-09 00h39 Crapaud de Surinam / Toad
  7. 2013-02-09 00h42 Hamster / Hamster
  8. 2013-02-09 20:45 Passereau / Dunnock
  9. 2013-02-10 20:10 Coléoptère de pétrole / Oil Beetle
  10. 2013-02-11 20:45 Pluvier siffleur / Piping Plover

please change the Original TV Show Language to French

I couldn't find the French episodes, but it is produced by a French production company and the English version appears to be dubbed.

I notice you have not yet moved the episode titles/descriptions and episode stills for Seduce Me. Is it okay for me to move the episode titles/descriptions (I can't move the images myself) now, or are you waiting for other users/mods to confirm?

I have noticed the same for Mommas. Can I move the episode titles/descriptions now (and french episode titles/translation) and add those airdates (and you move the images), or are you also similarly waiting for others to chime in?

I'm letting you fix the data. cat But please change the episode numbers https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/79167-mammas/season/1/edit?active_nav_item=episodes instead of switching the data around. That's the correct (and way easier) method for re-ordering the episodes.

Did you use the premiere "during a Court-circuit special episode on the Berlinale / Isabelle Rossellini" as the air dates for episodes 4-7? I thought we weren't supposed to do that- that the air dates should be only the air dates on the original network (i.e. on Arte)?

@tmdb24407783 Court-circuit is an Arte program: https://www.arte.tv/fr/videos/RC-014513/court-circuit/
