The Movie Database Support

Hi there,

I recently added a couple of the Tegn films to my collection, but TMDB doesn't appear to give any results when I search on it.

The first is "In the Sign of the Taurus (I Tyrens tegn) (1974)". It didn't add to Kodi, so I came here to check, and despite searching for both the English and Danish names - nothing. "There are no movies that matched your query."

So I joined to add it, but when I tried it gave me a duplicate alert! And look, there it is! https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/24942-i-tyrens-tegn But, you can't find it by searching... Unless you google, then TMDB returns a result!

I also tried with "Danish Pastries (I Jomfruens tegn) (1973)" and same same. Cannot find in the site, can find outside via google, Kodi can't see it, but try to add and, LO, there it is... https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/24937-i-jomfruens-tegn

Help?

Both show up when I search under either title when I search TMDb. Odd.

Odd indeed. Could you possibly post a " delimited string here which you've tested, and which I could cut and paste to do a search?

I've already done that of course, but still... relaxed

Just to prove I'm not going mad, a screen cap of my search on imgur

Search result

Waiting in a car park for my wife at the moment, so using phone and can't do anything too fancy, but https://www.themoviedb.org/search?query=in+the+sign+of+taurus leads me to the standard results page (1 movie in the case). The autocomplete even finishes both the titles for me. Assuming other searches work fine is it worth clearing your internet cache? Maybe something hung up in there leading you to an out of date page?

Ah, it's set as Adult:true. It's also locked, so I guess that's true, but @lineker is like an adult:true expert haha!

So, in order to successfully search for it, you have to set your profile to show adult items in search, here.

Thanks @alltimemarr, that was the issue. grinning

Thanks for helping out too @M. LeMarchand

I suppose this wouldn't be the right place to ask how I might fix Kodi to also search for 'adult' titles..?

I would think you're better of searching or asking in the Kodi forums. I found this old thread.

Thanks again @alltimemarr. Boy, it seems like the Kodi folk are super dead set against allowing their users to access anything adult related! Well, given I'm using a non-editable Android TV box for my movie stuff, I guess I'm out of luck. Super impressed with the help from TMDB users though! smile

Glad it's solved. I tend to remove any adult filters so that I get all search results, just in case something is wrongly flagged as "Adult" (and because I don't have to worry about little ones). Must have done it on TMDb at some stage.

Same here. Unadulterated search results please. Sometimes one gets quite a surprise on Google image search though!!
