Item: Godzilla Collection
Language: en
Type of Problem: Incorrect_content
Extra Details: I believe this collection to be incorrect but am unable to edit it myself. Rather than a simple reboot of the Toho Godzilla franchise, Legendary Entertainment have created the "MonsterVerse" franchise centred around Monarch, the secret government agency dealing with giant super-species and as such is missing the movie Kong: Skull Island (2017) and is set to include other monsters, besides Godzilla and Kong, in the future.

The MonsterVerse franchise is quite literally an Universe. Kong: Skull Island is not a sequel to Godzilla and shouldn't be in the Collection: https://www.themoviedb.org/bible/collection

But it is a prequel of Godzilla vs Kong. You can't have one but not the other.

Yes, we can. It's the Godzilla collection, and not the MonsterVerse universe. There is chance Godzilla vs Kong shouldn't be in there either. But I prefer to leave it in for now.

in that case, shouldn't Kong Skull Island be in it's own Collection along with Godzilla vs Kong, and the later simply be part of both collections?

Something cannot be in two collections at once.
What needs to happen is implementing a Universe grouping separate to the Collections grouping. This is almost a 4 year old thread and it was the issue then, has been a recurring issue atleast since 2008 when the MCU started and is only getting more prevalent as more franchises pop up.

There is a universe type feature in the works, but there is no ETA on it, so I'm going to close this topic.
