I get the same error (status code 11) when trying to add a comment to an existing item in a list using the v4 list API. The same code/request works for some items, but others just crash and burn.

@htilly You need to be making a request with your account id, not username.
You can get your account ID by completing the request for an access token. I have an example script that you can use to see what I mean here.

No, you do not. Access tokens do not expire so feel free to use that one.
