I'm using the following query:
var url = 'https://api.themoviedb.org/3/discover/movie';
var params = {
'api_key': MY_KEY,
'region': 'US',
'release_date.gte': '2018-02-01',
'release_date.lte': '2018-02-28',
'with_release_type': '4'
};
Which looks like this:
https://api.themoviedb.org/3/discover/movie?api_key=<<KEY HERE>>®ion=US&release_date.gte=2018-02-01&release_date.lte=2018-02-28&with_release_type=4
And I'm getting the following TV-SHOW: "When We First Met" which seems to be a tv-show as seen in imdb: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt5783956/releaseinfo?ref_=tt_dt_dt
And apparently it neither has a physical version (ignoring the with_release_type=4) , because it seems to be released on internet only.

Surely it's a movie rather than a TV show, regardless of where/how it was released? Compare "The Cloverfield Paradox", "Whatever Happened To Monday" and similar.

What about the fact that is appearing on the search when using with_release_type=4? Which is "physical" format only? This is only released on the internet?

That I don't know. But your "title" question was "Discover movies is returning a TV show" and in this case the "TV Show" is a movie.
Actually, according to the documentation I found - maybe it's out of date (https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/discover/movie-discover)- release_type uses the same mapping as release_date:
From https://developers.themoviedb.org/3/movies/get-movie-release-dates
...so, if I'm understanding that correctly, Type 4 is digital?

Right!! Type 5 should be! No idea where I got the 4! Thanks for that!
