Now this forum includes about 80 pages growing each day. If a new participant wants to contribute, for example, in translating the site or proposing his own variants of translation, it is hard to find the neighbouring co-contributors. I propose to add a general localized branch (LB) at the end of categories - after the "General", "Website Support" and so on. The respective LB should appear in a language according to the user preferenced, and only when that is not English. The LB could be named "Support in Language", for example: "Support in French" or "Forum d'aide en français" or something alike.

You expect mods to give support in all languages?

We have mods from all over the world, but i still prefer for people to try asking their questions/sending reports in english.

No. It shouldn't be a kind of whirligig for mods. It is only intended to provide a short way to co-operate in specific technical questions, not deeper. This could be done another way by means of filtering, but I see no options to filter branches that are created and/or edited in different languages.

I reconnect to TMDB, because it's the best Database. And basicly i tell me to don't more write some threads in the forum. But here... Daily live it isn't easy for everybody also for mods, but sometime it's really difficult for foreign language contributors. A lot of reason for , that I can understand sometimes. TMDB is basically english, and multi languages needs time. Ok. Also be Mod also is a hard job., personally I don't will the job But people can be contributor without be Mod Why not give a workspace for "foreign language" contributors. Be more then 1 , it's sometime great, when you try to create/translate some "big" TV Series, search etc. The thread contents control is allways in the hand of Mods.

Perhaps, it's a point to discuss whether a user needs a localized branch inside a film or a "big TV Series". IMHO, there is no crucial need to have ones, while users may create such discussions and they'd be not hard to find. Otherwise, the main idea here is: Users need a locilized area when pointing the support forum. Follow the real-life example:

First visiting the TMDB, I found it only 30% localized for my native language, and about 10% of that was not suitable in fact. It would be no problem for me to use the complete English version, but it is uncomfortable to switch languages every time I edit content (the localized version of it). Furthermore, me thinks about the people that I edit the content for -- they may use but not admire a localized content when this is interfaced in a language they uncommon with. Moreover, as a result of their every day activity, some people may be high-level contributors of a localized content but still may be not so good in English, so they need this site to be deeply localized. OK_OK_OK. In fact, I localized more than 50% from the ground, plus the existing 10% edited, plus am going to process the rest. The problem is we have no place to discuss the corresponding questions if they arrive. If I create a branch, it will be shortly lost among others and people just left on their own. As result now: 1) I don't know how users accept my translation; 2) I had no discussion with the privious localizors to discuss my variants of translation; 3) The localized version of TMDB never be stable, regardless be correct sometime; 4) In our country the professions that allied to cinematography are far away to meet the international list, so my further translating would be much faster if discussing this specific field with people having a deeper knowledge.

I agree having at the very least one localized topic to discuss each local translation would be awesome! The translations can be very confusing and these kind of topics are too easily lost in the sea of discussions.

Honestly, I've always like the idea of having country/language specific forums where contributors could work together on local content and offer peer on peer support. I am all for team work and users often ask questions which do not needs to be answered by Travis or by content mods, and would be better answered by the community. duck

Hi! It would be great to know the way how new translated strings are merged to the localized mainstream: automatically or pre-examined?
If the first, are there any preferences as to the user who made the translation?
Travis, after a real-life accident I'm forced to ask the above questions.
