It is not possible to make your edits private. Unfortunately, it's probably not something that I will implement as I feel as though it's an important part of any publicly editable database. Being able to track the previous edits to get the full context of the data is very important. This is the same as how Wikipedia works.
Yes, that's a good suggestion. You can always create another account if you are worried about some of the edits being associated with your primary account.

Doesn't that violate the Community Guidelines? They say: One account per person is enough. Multiples are unnecessary and will be banned and/or removed.
9/10 times users who have multiple accounts have typically been doing something suspicious (like gaming the ratings). If we detect that kind of behaviour, yes, your accounts won't likely last. But if all you're doing is trying to separate some private edits, I won't intervene. In 9 years, this is the first time I can remember this question being asked so I'm not worried.

And if you don't want people to know you edit adult content or kid cartoons, create another profile just for that
