The Movie Database Support

Hi, I'm using api to search for movies and actors in my personal blog. I've coded all I need in php but for 2 weeks performance is become a huge problem. For example for actor's page (here an example: https://www.kafaizni.org/test/kisi.php?id=85 ) I'm making arrays request via;

  • Person, in Turkish
  • Person, in English
  • Person images
  • Person movie credits

When I coded the page, in the begining, pages are fast as lightning but now I need to refresh page 4-5 (sometimes more) times to get all I request. And I changeg nothing. I'm not a proffesional coder and I'm not taking any cache copy . Every page request is instantaneous.

Are there any request limitation for API or do you recommend any coding tips/tricks to get data faster?

Thank you.

Hi there,

As mentioned in the docs, we do impose rate limits which is probably what you're running up against. My suggestion to you would be to cache the data as you request it, that way you don't need to make multiple requests of the same data over and over. As time goes by, your cache will fill up and you'll be hitting our service less and less.
